After a prolonged period of faultless service from Amazon I call into question the choice of using a French based third party courier who were wholly lamentable. The first attempt at my delivery failed, the second attempt was late and during this time I apparently had a sex change operation where I went from being John to Emma? Throughout this I was repeatedly lied to as indeed were Amazon even to the point where the corrective phone call I was supposed to receive never actually happened . Right that's got that off my chest now on with the toolbox. It's cavernous at 28 inches in length which is particularly useful for storing larger hand tools such as saws, extended drill bits and claw hammers. The square based design not only provides strength but also assists in being able to store your heavier tools at the bottom as there is very little taper so the actual footprint of the box remains large. I weigh approximately 80kg and I sat on it, stood on it and hopped from foot to foot on it with no issues. I personally like the two thirds length tote box as it allows more flexibility. You can easily store deeper objects like power sanders etc. I have yet to tow it behind a boat on a lake to see if it's waterproof because I've been busy , however I have no doubt that the seal works as effectively as stated. The metal clasps do have a fractional amount of side to side play in them and one of mine needed a little attention with a pair of long nosed pliers but all is fine now. The handle, hinges and general construction all seem to be of a reasonable standard and should last well if not abused . The reason that I have given the five stars is there is nothing better at this price point and at every stage of my problematic delivery Amazon provided excellent customer service and support otherwise I would probably still be waiting now.

Deep and wide to store everything from my saw to selection of hand tools. I like thatbit has a rubber seal around the edge to keep out water although I haven't tested to see if this actually works. Great sturdy latches which can be locked. Lid has a groove to hold and cut items on top including measurements printed. Seems durable and although I think you could sit or stand on top I don't think it's really sturdy enough to take too much weight. Handle seems strong and thick enough to deal with heavier tools. I've managed to pack away the majority of mynmostbuseful and frequent tools and like the organising layer that sits in middle which can be moved. Overall great tool box but not sure great value for money in comparison to other toolbox and providers so loses a start. Otherwise quite pleased just missing a drawer to tuck away loose items.

Ordered this for my partner as his old box broke. Very sturdy box, the clicks are high quality and do not feel flimsy or breakable. Very good size box for tools, fits in car boot or van. Two layers for smaller or larger tools. Very practical.

Make sure you get this on sale - don't pay more than £35 for it, as that is what I would suggest it is worth. I purchased it a few years ago and it has served me pretty well, with me only having to replace it when the catches finally gave up. That is my only gripe with this toolbox – over time, the catches can become harder and harder to close, which can be a bit annoying. But, as far as the actual sturdiness of the box goes, it is pretty good and it’s pretty large. Overall, I would certainly recommend it for under £35 :)

Brilliant toolbox, bought this to hold all my DIY essentials in. When filled up the case is still easy to carry, the strength of the braces closing the lid from the base is very strong making it completely waterproof. There is a seem around the lid to keep the closing of the lid nice and comfortable. There are two levels to store your tools in. Bottom section is most likely devoted to the bigger items and the top level for smaller pieces such as screwdrivers and files. Would recommend this to buyers looking to buy an affordable solution to store there tools in with top quality.

Heavy duty, spacious toolbox. Worth every penny for an air tight water proof toolbox.

This tool box is huge, and will happily store everything I need. The only downside is the latches can be a little stiff and awkward to open and close, but overall a great tool box

I now have four of these boxes (3x 28 inch and 1x 23 inch) and they are very useful for keeping tools year-round in an outbuilding, particularly if silica gel packs are kept inside and periodically replaced or recharged. However, these boxes have a design flaw which loses marks from their score. On the inside front upper edge of the lid there are three small projections spaced out across the central portion of the front edge. As far as I can tell these projections are intended to prevent the front panel deforming and bowing inwards while the metal clasps are being closed. Unfortunately these projections are very fragile and have already broken off on a couple of my the boxes. It is still possible to close the clasps and form a seal, but it's definitely a lot more awkward to do now. A real shame as otherwise these boxes are a great solution to tool storage for those of us without the luxury of a dry, heated indoor den or tool store. I also have to agree with many other reviewers down in the one and two star territory. The latches for these boxes can be a real battle to close. Not always though. Sometimes they just clip right down. They seem to be very sensitive to any slight misalignment. I guess they do need to be very strong in order to form the supposedly weatherproof seal, but not if the force of closing them then causes damage to the box. I still do quite like these boxes at £30 but if mine suffer any further failures/damage I will update this review accordingly.

Thinner than I would have hoped for. It works for me because of the big size and the fact that it is waterproof but, I just wish it was thicker plastic. I would probably buy another one just for those reasons.

Ich benötigte eine weitere Werkzeugbox. Bei einem Elektriker und einem Trockenbauer habe ich die Stanley Fat Max Box gesehen, und den Trockenbauer darauf angesprochen. Aufgrund seines Feedbacks habe ich mir die Box zugelegt. Ich finde sie super. Ich habe mir die bisherigen Rezensionen (grob) durchgelesen. Einige fand ich richtig gut, mit einigen Kritikpunkten kann ich jedoch nichts anfangen: Geruch: Ja, das stimmt, in der Werkzeugbox riecht es nach Plastik. Das liegt wohl daran, dass sie aus Plastik ist. Der Geruch innen stört mich nicht - da kommt Werkzeug herein und keine Lebensmittel. Insoweit -finde ich- geht diese Kritik fehl. Belastbarkeit des herausnehmbaren Innenfaches: Das Fach ist so konstruiert, dass es heruasnehmbar ist; man kann es links oder rechts (versetzt) in die Box einlegen. Aus den eingeformten Fach-Abmessungen geht schon hervor, dass es nicht für schweres Werkzeug (zB schwerer Hammer) gedacht ist - ich nutze es für "Kleinteile", die man immer braucht, zB Klebeband, Bleistift, Kabelbinder usw. Ein Rezensent führt als Kritik an, dass man dort kein Werkzeug "hineinschmeissen" kann, weil die Auflagepunkte das nicht aushalten. Das ist befremdlich. Mein Werkzeug schmeisse ich nicht, sondern gehe damit sorgfältig und pfleglich um. Mir ist Ordnung wichtig - dann finde ich schnell und sicher das, was ich benötige. Somit ist "rumschmeissen" und damit Chaos und Schaden verbreiten, sowieso "out". Ich habe die Box mit Werkzeug befüllt, und sie dann quergelgt, und geschüttelt. Die Kleinteile im "Deckelfach" blieben in den zugeordneten Fächern. Das finde ich super. Robustheit / Volumen: Ich wiege ca. 80 kg und kann mich bequem auf die Box setzen. Sie hält das ohne zu mucken aus. Ich habe in die Kiste mein Werkzeug zur Oberflächenbearbeitung geladen; also diverse Elektrogeräte zum schleifen und einen Akkubohrer. Passt alles gut herein und die Kiste lässt sich auch dann noch gut tragen. Dichtigkeit: Ich habe die Box heute ca. 35 Minuten im Regen stehen gehabt. Sicher ist es so, dass sich zB In der Griffmulde Regenwasser sammelt - hexen können die bei Stanley ja nun auch nicht. Aber das Regenwasser läuft über die Naht ab, und kann also gar nicht in die verschlossene Box eindringen. Ich habe es zwar nicht getestet, aber ich bin der Überzeugung, dass die beladene Box auch einen ganzen Tag im Regen stehen könnte, ohne dass Wasser hereinkommt; gleiches gilt auch für Staub. Bei Wüstensand und Tropenklima bin ich mir nicht sicher: ich würde keine Kamera-Ausrüstung damit transportieren - aber dafür ist sie ja auch nicht gemacht. Verschlüsse: Hier wird mitunter bemängelt, dass die Verschlüsse etwas schwergängig sind. Wenn man sie falsch bedient -also die Metallschliessen an den falschen Flansch versucht, einzuhängen, dann ist es schwer. Aber: kaum macht man es richtig, schon klappt es! Und eine Dichtigkeit kann man ja auch nur erzeugen, wenn Top/Botoom zusammengedrückt werden; da muss also der Verschluss schon Druck erzeugen; auch muss das Gewicht beim Tragen gehalten werden. Ich teile auch diese Kritik nicht, und finde, die Verschlüsse sind gut (auch mit Arbeitshandschuhen) zu bedienen. Fazit: Die Features der Box sind sehr gut durchdacht. Sie ist geräumig und übersichtlich, dicht und robust. Vomn Preis / Leistuzngsverhältnis finde ich die Box top! Meine kam von Amamazon aus Rochester, Uk, über Belgien zu mir - und war zwei Tage (trotz Corona-Hindernissen) vor dem angekündigten Lieferdatum (!!!) da. Die Leute von Amazon haben eine ausgebuffte Logistikkette - wow !!! Ich finde das wirklich toll! Ich habe nur Gutes zu sagen und bin vom Amazon-Service begeistert. Leider gehen nur fünf Sterne; ich würde gerne mehr geben!

Parfaite pour emporter des outils de grande taille et les garder au sec. Le coffre est assez lourd mais on peut monter dessus sans problème.

Eine richtig geräumige, stabile und hervorragend gefertigte Werkzeugbox. Ich wollte meine bescheidene Werkzeugsammlung endlich an und in einem Ort unterbringen. Zuvor hatte ich mehrere kleine Kisten in Gebrauch, aber die Sucherei nach irgendeinem Schraubendreher, Hammer oder Zange in 4 kleinen Kisten macht auch keinen Spaß. Hier geht alles rein, die Box hat sogar eine Dichtung um Staub vom inneren fern zu halten, sehr durchdacht. Stabile Verschlüsse, sogar drauf sitzen kann ich, mit immerhin 110 kg Lebendgewicht. Okay, sowas mache ich nicht oft. Also sehr empfehlenswert, der Preis bei Amazon war zum Kaufzeitpunkt auch toll. Im hiesigen Baumarkt kostete sie gute 35 Euro mehr.
