Excellent fan that really works
This fan is superb. It's very slim and modern looking. So quiet when running. Our bathroom would fill up with steam when showering this fan is amazing it keeps the bathroom clear. So pleased with this fan.

It's not whisper quiet but.....
It does a good job extracting stale damp air.Decreasing the chances of condensation build- up & nasty black mould growing.

Unusably noisy
I've had two of these fans from different retailers a few months apart and both make an awful clunky rattling noise and vibrate noticeably. They are far from "silent" as claimed. If it was just one I'd think maybe it was a fault with that unit, but this is 2/2 that perform exactly the same so at best their quality control is appalling..I guess they've changed the design as the ones I've bought also have a mesh filter that's easy to remove and clean, so the issues with dust other people have may be solved. But you don't really need the mesh filter, because a fan that sounds like a bag of bolts in a washing machine will never accumulate dust because it will never be turned on.

Good silent fan at first ....then too noisy...
This is a silent or near silent extractor fan when new and the new house we moved into has 6. After a few months the noise level of the fan started to increase as the fan (s) had to work harder to move the same volume of air. This I discovered this was due to the fan having a "hamster wheel" type of extractor with the wheel having fine blades which slowly clog or block with house dust (see photo). The picture shows the new fan alongside the fan after running for 6 months which clearly shows the dirt. I cleaned the fan but its a fiddly operation and you have to disconnect the fan and remove from the wall. Most of the new build house owners (new estate) have switched them off because of the increased noise due to the blocking. When cleaned they are again near silent. I bought a new one as a spare replacement to use when having to clean them (6 installed in the house) after about 5 months. It takes about 30 minutes to remove and clean them. They don't have a filter which is in my view a mistake in the design considering the design problem.

Noisy
I did not buy from Amazon but electrician supplied and fitted one in bathroom and one in kitchen as recommended by humidity expert. Whilst efficient in detecting humidity and boosting the bathroom fan is so noisy all the time I am considering having it removed. That would mean I have wasted a significant amount of money which I can I’ll afford. Felt therefore I wanted to warn others.Kitchen one is less annoying but is on a higher setting for trickle . Not sure why.

Good fan but..........
I didnt buy from amazon either. I got mine from ebay. Silent fan only downside I see is cannot get replacement stainless mesh filters which prevents the build up on the blades. Gonna make my own instead if I cannot find any online etc. Then I can have a spare clean one to swap out. Other than that nice quiet fan

Needs regular maintenance
I have two of these fans. The other reviewers who say this fan gets noisy as it collects dust are 100% correct. It isn’t in the instructions but it *can* be cleaned without removing the whole fan from the wall/ceiling. Switch off the power first. Remove the square cover. Holding the case of the fan against the wall/ceiling, pull the housing for the “hamster wheel” from the rest of the case. Remove half the housing and pull the hamster wheel off its spindle. Give everything a good clean and put it all back together. But what a pain. Just buy a different fan.The important thing to know about this fan is it is designed for windowless bathrooms. It runs slowly all the time and goes at full speed when the lights are on. It has worked well at keeping my windowless bathroom free from mould for over 9 years, but cleaning it is a chore.
