Excellent Supplement For A New Breastfeeding Mom
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this supplement to aid in breastmilk production during my postpartum recovery period and beyond. It has a sweeter smell to it. It is an inch sized capsule. If you have a hard time swallowing capsules I would not recommend this specific brand. It is easy for me to take. It has wonderful health benefits in addition to aiding in breastmilk production. It does not make you sleepy. It has a smooth texture. The taste is not unbearable. It has two safety seals as well. The first is a tab you have to pull that will release the open and close feature of the bottle. The second is a safety seal after you open the bottle. My favorite part about this supplement is that is has Choline in it which is an absolutely crucial supplement that all pregnant and breastfeeding mothers need. I feel assured this product is helping me to be at my absolute best for the sake of not just me but my infant as well. Highly recommend! Worth the price.

Great for nursing problems
This is a great help if you are a nursing Mom, struggling with recurrent plugged ducts. I started with Soy Lecithin, and then switched to Sunflower Lecithin when my doctor suggested going off soy. It seems to work the same. Lecithin is a common food additive that is used as an emulsifier (makes things smooth and creamy by keeping fats dispersed in a suspension)--it is found in anything from salad dressing to chocolate to ice cream (usually from soy).Supposedly it makes the milk less "sticky" by increasing the percentage of polyunsaturated fats. I found it helped the blockage to clear, when combined with heat and massage (more so than heat and massage alone). I used it mostly when treating these issues, but sometimes as a preventative. Thrush was a factor in our recurring problem, so this did not solve it, but allowed me to manage it without getting mastitis. And just to be clear, I am not a super crunchy mama that doesn't believe in modern medicine. Sometimes you need all the help you can get. For a plugged duct, my doctor and lactation consultant both suggested heat and massage, followed by nursing and ice, and come in for antibiotics if you see signs of infection, or you are not able to resolve it in a few days. I was always able to resolve it.If you are considering this supplement for the same reason, you will find some information and tips for using it on KellyMom's website. This is a great resource for nursing problems. Disclaimer: Note that this as a therapy to help with plugged ducts (which can lead to mastitis), NOT a treatment for mastitis, which is an infection and should be treated with antibiotics. Make sure you know the signs of infection ("How do I know if I have a plugged duct or mastitis?" on KellyMom is helpful), and please talk to your lactation consultant and doctor when you start having troubles. Hope something in there is helpful, and good luck to you!

Good supplement no bad taste
I bought these for breastfeeding to help with clogs and they do seem to work. They are fairly large pills and it seems as though one may have leaked because they are greasy but they taste good and don’t have a bad smell.

Holy grail!!
This is a holy grail for all breastfeeding mamas who suffer from frequent clogged ducts. Trust me you don't have to give up breastfeeding just cause of this. I suffered from very bad frequent painful clogged ducts until I found this. I am the kind of person who avoids medicines and think twice before taking one. I researched and took a chance of getting this. I was suffering from pretty bad clogged ducts, milk bleb and what not. I took 1 pill for 5 days And got repeated clogged ducts for 3 days until it cleared every milk clots.... yes milk clots, it was that bad. I continued taking it 2 extra days just to be on the safe side. I did not get for two months straight. That was a relief.Recently I got clogged ducts again and followed the same procedure. Without this I don't think I could have continued BF.On the side note-I breast massaged with olive oil when ever I got clogged ducts/milk blister/bleb.-pill is on the bigger side. I usually avoid big pills but I had to take a chance with this and I am pretty impressed it wasn't that bad. It is on the thinner side so I guess it was easy to swallow.-if it gets too painful use cold compress and SLEEEEEEEEEP before it gets too painful.- I skip 2 feedings on the affected breast and then come back to it for one feeding. I repeat this until It gets unclogged or it is time for bed. SLEEP IS THE KEY. I know the recommendation is to keep feeding on the same breast but noooooo, it made my breast too full and painful and I could never sleep properly when it is that full and painful. So if it doesn't open GET SOME SLEEP it will unclog right after.- lastly! Get this!! This will save you mama!Update: I did not get any clogged ducts after that. It has been 7-8 months I believe or may be more. Loved it and never had to take anymore.

Gets the Flow Flowing
I am new to breastfeeding and was having painful and frequent engorgement and discomfort between feedings. I swear this helped me and my baby the first day I took it! Latch also became much better or maybe felt that way since my breasts were becoming less painful.I was taking just 1 pill every morning for 4 days for preventative. Day 2 was our peek of the effects. Day 3 and 4 my baby had increasingly become fussy with eating. My letdowns are on high flow and baby is releasing early and wanting more frequent feedings. Not so much gas issues as I’ve read from others but definitely uncomfortable and made baby cry in a way I don’t hear often, painful.I will be keeping for future use and will stick with 1 per day but don’t go over 2 days if clog is gone.
