The PRS Electric Guitar Book: A Complete History of Paul Reed Smith Electrics Review: A Lesson on Success Disguised as a Guitar Picture Book - Got this for my son last Christmas. Awesome photos, but what really amazed him was the detailed history of Paul Reed Smith Guitars. I read it as well and was impressed with Dave Burrluck's writing and the level of detail in the book. It's obvious Mr. Smith was highly engaged during the writing. He shares many thoughts about PRS projects over the years and the rationale behind why and how many signature PRS guitars and technology was developed. This book is a window into Smith's goals, dreams and influences as he sought to build the Holy Grail of electric guitars. It also demonstrates how Smith was willing to chase his dreams and push through obstacles and struggles as he built one of the marquis guitar brands in the world. A great lesson to young and old alike that it is possible to do great things through hard work, courage and perseverance. This is a read you'll go back to over and over again. Highly Recommended! Review: Accurate but not complete - I really enjoyed this book. I worked at PRS in Annapolis from '88-'91 and I can say that historically, as far as the three years when I was there, this book seems to be right on the money. Lots of beautiful pictures... but even if you had a picture of every gorgeous guitar ever made by PRS, it would still be difficult to illustrate the splendor that these guitars represent. However, I recently bought a PRS SE Custom-7 and was hoping to get some insight into Paul's 7-string line by purchasing this book. I've only found one mention in the back of the book where it lists all SE models and there is a short blurb about all of the things that you can know by just looking at the guitar like, 24 frets, two humbuckers, laminated maple, seven strings, push/pull coil tap, etc. No mention anywhere about the seven string line. I understand this version of the book was made before the SVN came out but I would think there should be more info about the early 25" scale 7-string. Otherwise, if you don't have a 7-string PRS, I recommend this book highly to anyone who owns or loves PRS guitars.

Great history.
Great historical book with terrific pictures. I met Paul, years ago, at a Guitar Center show. He was very nice and had a down home personality. Answered all my questions and autographed my lacewood PRS custom, on the upper horn with a scribe.

where the 30th anniv models are!?
all great photos (the very reason why I bought it) wish it had a lot more private stocks, and my biggest disappointment was that not a single or little sneak peak at 30th anniversary models!!! other than that, very nice book, not as good as the coffee table though for picture quality and printing materials, overall nice and concise

I bought this for my dad for Christmas. He is an avid PRS fan and musician. He loved this gift and thought it was so thoughtful.

PRS fans have a book they can adore.
Wonderful book about PRS guitars and its history. Many brilliant photos cover them all and the story is quite fascinating. How did a little shop in Maryland manage to entice Santana, Peter Frampton and jazz legend Al DiMeola to use them? Quality, playability and classy style. Eye candy for PRS or guitar fans in general.

I have the previous book. The print and paper is lower quality. I returned it. Not worth it. Buy the previous edition, much higher quality photos and pring

Histoire bien écrite, nombreuses illustrations, pour découvrir ou approfondir ses connaissances sur Paul Reed Smith et ses guitares. Petit bémol : la couverture est un peu endommagée, râpée.
