Incredibly comfy and worth the price
Well worth the money. Changed my Hyperx Alpha absolute garbage earpads into these. It was a bit hard to put them on and a bit scary too with the amount of stretching that was needed but built very well and didn't tear at all.Comfort: 5*, not as soft as Beyerdynamic earpads but it makes a nice and snug fit, the holes are very big and ears sit comfortably inside and the memory foam being a bit stiffer win't allow your ears to touch the foam covering the speaker inside which is very nice.Noise cancellation: 4* as it's expected to have less noise cancelling than PU or leather earpads, but allows your ears to breath better and prevents from marinating in it's own sweat.Sound quality: 4* being large, half velour and quite thick padded means you will notice a difference in how the headphones sound (not neceserily sound quality but the tone itself) still worth every penny for any headphones that can fit this.Build quality: 5* with proper care these will last you incredibly long. Very nice stitching and very durable PU on the outside. Even the foam disks are stitched very well.

Initially disappointed but now very happy
I held off leaving a review for a week to see how they would settle down. They were very tricky to get onto the sony mdr1 abt but patience paid off. They do fit but very tight.Immediate impression was wonderfully comfortable but music was distant and thin. Press the ear cups into my ears and naturally the bass tightened right up. Can't go round like that though. I adjusted the headband to make it a little tighter, adjusted the bass and it was better. A few days later the bass was becoming overpowering. Turned it back down and pressed the ear pads into my head and it made no difference whatsoever. This proves that the pads have indeed softened up a little and allow the headphone cones to sit a little closer. This makes the world of difference. The pads that came with the headphones are 15 months old and offer almost no padding at all anymore. Painful but artificially loud bass. After that anything would be a little bass lite.A week later and these beauties have won me over. They are beautifully comfortable sound great and make warm ear muffs in the cold weather we are getting in Wales at the moment

Great for Sony MDR-1A, Gaming and Sound Quality Boost
Original ear pads with around 7 years of use in the 1st and 2nd pic. The new ear pads in the 3rd and 4th pic. Completely transformed the look of the headphones. My headphones are the Sony MDR-1A wired headphones. I did have to use a blade/box cutter to cut slits in the leather on the back of the earpads in order to fit these but it took around 5 minutes to get that done. I was beginning to feel like my headphones were dying on me but figured it could just be the huge rip in the leather (as shown in the pic above). So I took a chance and fitted these. I’m so glad I did. Saved myself over £150.Sound quality actually got a huge boost for me. The perforated leather around where your ear sits gives everything you’re listening to a surround sound feel. Which I feel is great for when I’m gaming.Only gripe I have with these is after around 3 hours of use, I can start to feel like I need to take a break from wearing them because my ears begin to feel quite trapped. This could just be down to the headphones themselves though. These headphones have always been extremely comfortable with the original pads so these pads do sacrifice some of that comfort for a slightly different listening experience which I don’t really mind. The memory foam in the ear pads does have a level of firmness to them so those with headphones that have a stronger clamp force will most likely feel the pads around their ears but you will still find comfort in using these.Overall a great pair of ear pads with great value for money. I will definitely recommend these for anyone looking to change ear pads.

Also for \razer Blacksharks.
Purchased to fit on a pair of Razer Blacksharks. The original cushions on my Razer Blackshark headset deteriorated and upon contacting Razer to purchase a new set, I was then told by Razer that they did not sell replacement ear cushions for the Blacksharks a headset that cost me nearly £150.I use the headset of work as well as gaming, so I desperately searched for something to allow me to use the headset again. I ordered these is desperate hope and they fitted perfectly. Not only that but they are of much better quality than the original, they have more a lot more padding so make the headset much more comfortable to wear not that it was that uncomfortable, but now I can wear it over eight hours a day and it is still comfortable. The greater depth or the larger inner ear hole or both provide better sound, noticeably better sound. I am not a super sound audiophile but they have provided a better sound experience. They also provide much greater insulation from external noises.

Using on my Arctis Pro Wireless - For me, better then the original. Check my review.
They are bigger, and slightly bigger inside = more room for ears, so i can move headset more on my head to get it sitting even more optimal on my head and sides.Slightly higher foam density then the original. That ALSO helps me, to get more space from ear to the "speakergrill and fabric".So for me, it means that my ears are no longer touching grills-fabric = very good.So now i can wear the headphones for alot of hours. And do not get "soar" ear-side-parts.Where they before was pressed/pushed on a little bit. By a side, AND by speaker grills and its fabric.Time will tell if they gets softer with time, and if my ears touch grills-fabric again. But very good for my first few weeks of every day use.

Excellent upgrade to ATH-M40X
This review is for the 'hybrid' variant. TL;DR they're a huge upgrade to my M40x headphone, in terms of comfort, sound quality and looks. Was undecided between the hybrid finish and the micro-suede, but upon trying it out, no regret. Price seemed high but it's got my headphones looking, sounding and most importantly feeling like new again, so completely worth it.REASON FOR PURCHASE:Bought this because the synthetic leather-like material covering the original earcups was thin and flimsy and started peeling/flaking off after about a year of moderately gentle use.OTHER ISSUES WITH THE ORIGINAL EARCUPS:- when left unused for a few weeks, possibly due to temperature, the pads on both sides would get stuck, and separating them caused slight tears which ultimately resulted in the peeling off as mentioned earlier.- during lengthy producing/mixing sessions, my ears would get hot and even sweaty (and I don't sweat a lot normally), so I'd have to take them off for a few minutes. Having used Beyerdynamic DT-990 and DT-770, I realised the so-called velour would help with that. Although the fabric on the beyerdynamics is different and much softer than on these, but it's still very comfortable.- I have large ears that kind of stick out, so the original earcups definitely felt cramped, specially compared to a DT770. ears would press against the inside of the earcups. after lengthy sessions, along with the ventilation problem, it got uncomfortable enough that I had to take off the headphone and massage my ears.REASON FOR THE 5 STARS:- Stays cool after long sessions, though I haven't tested in very hot weather yet. Still, at least this velour material won't stick to the skin like the leatherette stuff would. Ears barely touch the inside of the earcups, so it's very comfortable because of that, too.- Soundstage (sense of spaciousness, perceived separation of left-right channels) is vastly improved, because of the larger size. More space inside the earcups gives the sound waves room to hit/reflect off different parts of your ear, making it a bit more like listening to live music/speakers, as opposed to being injected straight into the ear-canal like with in-ear phones.- Many reviews mention a huge loss of bass. I experienced a very slight reduction (perhaps inevitable due to the larger size). I enjoy a healthy amount of bass, but I feel the M40X already has enough of it that a slight reduction doesn't hurt it much, and the huge improvement in clarity and sense of space makes it more than worth it.ON THAT NOTE: While changing the earcups, I noticed 2 things: one, that the fabric lining that covers the drivers is much thinner on these compared to the original pads. Second, the M40X originally has a separate, thin foam pad inserted between the drivers and the pads' inner lining. I felt removing this oval disk would probably let through more of the high-end/sibilance that some people have mentioned, specially with the thinner lining of the new earcups, so I kept it in and personally find the sound to be pretty well balanced, not harsh. People with other headphones might want to experiment with this as a kind of hack. Also, overall external noise isolation seems to be very slightly reduced. As in, it allows a tiny bit more external sound to leak through.
