I don't do review often, but this arrived today and I tried it and it works great with eggs. It works like a potato ricer. It is plastic but its very sturdy and pushes through about 98% of all of the egg, the rest is easily knocked loose against the bowl. It rinses off quickly. This is a great tool if you need hardboiled eggs cut into very small pieces. It would certainly work well for egg salad and will make processing eggs for deviled eggs much easier.

I love this egg masher! I buy hard boiled eggs peeled and ready to plop into this baby. It makes it so easy to make a perfect base for a quick egg salad. No dirty knives or cutting boards.. the masher itself you just rinse off immediately after use and it’s good to go! Super easy for a lazy guy or gal like myself.When you mash the egg, there is a thin piece of egg white left in the masher that you can’t really mash out but I personally don’t mind. I just tap it out into my bowl or toss it to my dog for a treat lol no big deal. It requires a bit of rage power to squeeze the handle down on the egg but just think of your ex and you’ll be okay.

This is a nice conception item. However it isnt foolproof. It requires you to. Put partial eggs back inside as part of egg gets pushed up. That said it still works fine and id buy again.

My family loves hard boiled eggs any way (egg salad, deviled eggs, on salads, etc) Works well and makes making egg salad or mushing upp egg yokes for deviled eggs a breeze! Perfect size, seems sturdy and way to clean, just be sure to rinse it at least after use to avoid egg bits getting stuck in holes.

This is a handy tool for making egg salad. My only issue is the texture of the eggs: the holes are so small, the eggs become mushy. The device also takes up a bit more room in the drawer than I'd like. On the whole, It's worth it if you make a lot of egg salad at once. Not sure I'd buy it again.

We just got ours. Yes, it does leave small pieces of the egg in an un-smashed state, and a little bit of the egg is left in the holes after you use it, but we are willing to accept some loss of raw material for the time savings and totally smashed state of the eggs after we smash them. Much faster than chopping with a knife or cleaning out the other chopping device we used to use but stopped using it because it was such a pain to clean and we couldn't even find it when we looked for it so we bought this instead and boy are we glad. It hasn't broken yet after five eggs, if it doesn't give me a good year or so of service we'll come back here and knock the rating down like we did with that stupid metal lime juice extractor that broke as soon as we used it. Of course, limes are tougher than eggs. At least our eggs. Our eggs are pleasantly not-tough.

I was looking for a smaller option to use for doing a quick egg chop for things like potato salad.I immediately learned this one never should’ve gone into my Amazon basket!It’s cheap and the opening does not leave you much room to put an egg inside, plus cleaning it is nearly an impossible task. If you are able to manage to get an egg inside, it will not dice the egg or do anything close to a chop – it makes egg strings and it’s disgusting!Save your money because this one is a no, no, no!

Wonderful tool to prepare hard-boiled eggs for egg salad. Drop the egg in the slotted well, line up the "presser" and squeeze. PRESTO - egg bits for egg salad. Easy to clean - swish in dish water then spray clean with hot water. Others have commented it does not "smash" eggs easily and it is not easy to clean - I did not find either of these to be so.
