Gave this to my 7 yr old grandson who loves to draw and color....he loves it! The colors are vibrant and include some special colors like gold and silver. The outer case is hinged metal with a metal clasp. Very nice starter water color set for the budding artist.

I will start off by saying I've just done the swatch card, but I can already tell the pigment isn't the brightest. These colors were light on their first brush. I spritz my palettes with a water bottle and let them get nice and soft so I can test how dark I can get them... And they're all kinda pastel, especially the shimmer ones. I did a few strokes in some scrap paper and the color is buildable, I just wish it was a bit more saturated because one wash won't do it.I'll try to update with my first painting.I will say I love the color choices- 3 to 4 hues of each color and the shimmer colors in the same palette are a plus.

This is my second set of pigments and they are of very low quality. While they are wet, they are great, but when they dry, they look all washed out. And I have painted them repeatedly and they never look right. I think there is not enough pigment and too much chalk. Because they look chalky, not painted. Please do not waste your money. I am a beginner water color-er, but I am used to painting in oils and acrylics. I have an idea of what it is supposed to look like,and this ain't right. Please do not waste your money. This set will be going to the thrift shop.
