ShootingTargets7 TM target hanging straps are designed for most steel targets. Unique design angles targets downward for safer lead deflection and longer target life. Suitable for most steel targets. Rubber Straps - Can be shot many times, eliminate target wrap, stabilize targets quickly. Chains – Cheaper than straps, allow target to move more when hit.

Quality control is questionable
First, what I liked. The hardware to mount the straps was complete and appears to be well thought out. The carriage bolt head that inserts in the target hole was too large for the target I bought so the carriage bolt head would not fit flush. This is not manufacturer’s fault as there are many targets out there and as the bolt hole size varies so this is to be expected. The problem was quickly rectified by drilling out the hole larger to a 3/16” depth... No more problem. What I did not like was the quality control on the rubber straps. They were noticeably different in thickness, one was 1-1/2mm thinner and and had 2 less layers reinforcing cord. How do you miss something that is so noticeable that it is the first thing you see when you take it out of the bag.Update:After taking this out to the range I discovered another “issue”, these straps are listed as self healing. If you are shooting them with large bore pistol ammo and the smooth side is forward toward the shooter, the ammo passing through would rip the reinforcing cord out the back of the straps. I turned the straps around so the cord was on the side toward the shooter and had no more problems with excessive damage to the straps

I will be changing all my chains to these.
I have had .303 British hit this and it leave a little pin hole, I will be using this for all my steel targets. Easy to install and I mount these to my plates and makes it really easy to swap between different sized plates.

Excellent!
These tough straps were just what the doctor ordered! I set them up with some AR500 Gong targets, some 2x4's, and some metal brackets (to hold the stands together) but I didn't want to do chains. I had just shot some chains to pieces and made a mess and figured I'd give these a try. They were easy to work with, came with all the needed hardware and are definitely more resilient than chains. I like to shoot big target close up with the pistols, but the smaller targets are my preference from a distance to press my skills, so until I have a rifle trued up right hitting the target square on is not guaranteed. Well I was all over the place while zeroing in a few rifles recently and I hit these straps quite a few times and frankly they have held up pretty impressively. I've hit them with 5.56, 7.62, and 9mm rounds at varying speeds and distances. When I came back up to check things out I just find a few tiny holes (I could maybe push a thin-coat-hanger-wire through, if I tried hard) and if I didn't look close I wouldn't have known they'd been hit at all. The fiber in the rubber must be what does it. Regardless, I'm very happy with the purchase, and will reccommend them whenever I see chains in use from now on.

Horrible design flaws and quality.
I was really displeased with this mounting set and the price. These components can easily be assembled at a hardware store for 1/4 the price. I recommend doing that and buying lots of spares, because the components quickly degrade with use; much faster than anticipated. I used this particular kit on an 8" circular plate that I first engaged with low velocity pistols, which showed little wear after about 250 rounds. When I broke out the rifle, however, parts didn't last any time at all. Even solid hits to the center left a shower of bullet fragments and had an impact strength that was tearing, bending and shattering parts from the mounting kit, but the plate had no wear. By far the most annoying part was the bolt getting twisted or the threads damaged, which meant the old nut couldn't come off, and the whole bolt had to be cut off with a power tool. Here's what I do now, hang the chains on screws in the target framing or backboard if I'm able. Then use cable to connect the chain to the plate/target. The cable itself is usually really flexible and allows a lot of hits with most cartridges before needing to be changed, but when it does, a pair of cable cutters (small and light) is all that's really required, as opposed to an angle grinder or something similar. In short, for minor plinking with everything being really low velocity, then sure, this might work for you. However, if you're serious about shooting or want to use anything above, say, a 9mm, then use the method I described above.

Simple yet very effective
I am very impressed with this product, especially the simplicity of the design coupled with its durability. I shoot recreationally and in competitions so this hangers are perfect for the amount of shooting I do and I find the rubber straps basically self healing. I shoot 9mm, 45ACP, 5.56 and 308, and especially when shooting pistol the occasional miss is a non-issue when the hanger gets hit. I've noticed some of the reviewers rate this product very low because of complaints of chains breaking when hit. That is the fault of the chain, not this product. I suggest that those reviewers either A) use the rubber straps as shown in the product description or B) actually spend the money on quality hardened chains.

Works fine, chains will break, bring zipties
The mounting system works fine and angles the plates at a slight downward facing angle, The mounting bolts can withstand a few direct hits but I've blown through a lot of chain links.... so I just zip tie them together and keep shooting. Would be nice if the chains could take a rifle hit, they literally explode if touched by a single 5.56. Bring a fist-full of zip ties and you’ll be good.

So much better than chains
I have some targets hanging by chains and some by these. One hit to the ones hanging by chains and the target flips way up and swings all around. You have to wait for it to settle before shooting again. With these, there's just enough movement to absorb the impact, but it doesn't move so much that you can't immediately hit it with a followup shot. Plus you don't need to worry about hitting the straps, so that's a bonus. Chains are av cheaper up front cost, but you'll be replacing them more often, and these are just so much better.

Highly recommend.
This mounting kit holds metal targets securely to the target stand. Several of my chains do have bullet graze marks in them, go figure, but are still working perfectly. I use this mounting kit to hold 4", 6", 8", and a torso target. All of which are 3/8". I have purchased more than one kit. Highly recommend.
