This does the job well and for the price it's a bargain. Came direct from China so a bit of extra delivery time expected but most stuff does these days and cutting out the middle man saves money.I had no problem installing the software from the disc supplied. It is the Audacity program that is available for free online but I used the supplied disc in my Windows 10 computer and it worked without any problem. The "Lame" encoding program is needed to export your recording as an MP3 but it was included with the software and installed without issue.The player is basic but does the job and I have transferred over 20 cassettes so far and no problems. Of course it doesn't match the quality of a CD because that is the cassette limitation. Having said that even with some of my tapes that don't play well I was able to tweak the sound in Audacity to improve the play back considerably.Audacity is a great program and used extensively by many people even in professional circles. The standard default settings produce very acceptable results but editing recordings and adding effects is simple. If you play around with it a bit you will soon find it can do a lot to improve the quality of your recording.I plugged in a cheap speaker to the headphone socket of the player to hear when to start and stop recording but it easy enough to delete any unwanted portion with the Audacity software.I've already got my monies worth out of it and being able to play some of my old tapes as MP3's has brought great pleasure and memories back.

(Disclaimer: this information refers to the machine that I received, and, judging by other reviews, you may suffer some, none, or all of the problems that I describe - or you may have others of your own. For the money I paid, I am prepared to put up with the idiosyncracies of this device as it allows me to listen to the majority of my old cassettes, many of which can't be replaced in other formats and most or all of which are living on borrowed time.)Review starts here: If I'd wanted to use this device as a portable tape player I'd have been stuck, as it refuses to work on battery power. Fortunately my main purpose for buying it was to play back cassettes through my main hi-fi system, and since it has a USB connection I can use my mobile phone's USB charger to power it. Output is a bit low - in fact I have to turn the volume on my amplifier up so far that I run the risk of either being deafened or annoying my neighbours (or both) if I forget to turn it back down before playing CDs, LPs or radio. Sound quality is on the good side of acceptable, though a bit coarser than ideal, but using auto-reverse is not recommended since the sound quality is significantly poorer in one direction compared to the other. (N.B.: Having disabled auto-reverse, I now have to press Play twice, as the device tries to reverse after the first press and, finding it can't, engages auto-stop instead.) Ferric oxide tapes tend to clog the head rather quickly, so unless you have a decent head cleaner it's probably best to stick to CrO2 or metal tapes. The conversion software supplied (Audacity) works, but you may need to experiment with the settings (for instance, the instructions say to select "Play other tracks while recording new one" and "Software Play through (Play new track while Recording it)" in Preferences, but I could only get a recording by leaving those options unchecked. This may depend on which version of Windows you are running). Also note that there are minor differences between the printed manual and the one on the driver CD. Good luck!

Very Cheap, but functions well - when I got it working. It has now played all my old tapes and I've captured them Ok as wav and MP3 files so overall I'm happy.A few things to watch out for though....1) It installs fine in Windows Xp or Wiindows 7 32bit, but has problems with some builds of Windows 7 64bit, Windows 8 and Windows10 - you might need to fiddle with drivers etc to get it working in these.2) The software supplied on disc is Audacity 1.6 - an older version. It works Ok, but I downloaded the latest version (Aug2016 2.1.2) from the sourceforge website and updated it.3) I don't recommend you try to fit any batteries. It works fine off the USB cable supplied. The battery compartment clearance is very tight, and I found a capacitor is easily moved when installing the 'hidden' battery causing the 'auto reverse' gear to foul and cause continuous reversing every few seconds. (as some one else noticed).So overall, very cheap with a few niggles, but it functions very effectively if you take care to install and use it according to its quirks...

pour copier des cassettes en numérique. Simple : il faut installer Audacity (fourni en mini-CD), brancher l'appareil (sur pile ou transfo) aller dans préférence et indiquer la source. A partir de là, on met la cassette (auto-reverse) et on attend ! Le fichier est copié en temps réel, on peut faire un petit nettoyage si nécessaire (début/fin de piste) et le son est de bonne qualité. Epatant !

Die Kassetten können abgespielt werden. Man kann sie sich mit Kopfhörern anhören. Wie bei einem Walkman.Die Software habe ich wie angegeben aufgespielt. Leider war sie veraltet.Ich musste eine aktuelle Version aus dem Internet downloaden.Die Übertragung, von dem Converter auf den Laptop funktioniert nicht.Ich habe mir ein neues Kabel bestellt und angeschlossen. Es liegt nicht am Kabel.Sehr ärgerlich.25€ für so ein Scheißding.Mit einem einfachen Walkman wär ich besser dran gewesen.Das Programm kann man ja aus dem Internet downloaden.Ich habe jetzt den alten Kassettenrekorder von der Mutter benutzt und an den PC angeschlossen.Hätte ich das gewusst. Dann hätte ich mir das Ganze sparen können.

livré avec audacity version 2.0.3 que je n'ai pu faire fonctionner en testant>Edition>Préférences.. toutes les possibilités. En telechargeant v.2.2.2 j'ai initialisé:W.Direct Sound+Périf audio principal + pilote capture audio principal...et ça fonctionne. Le son en sortie sur écouteur volume à fond . impossible d'enregistrer en mp3 (manque fichier lame_enc.dll que je n'ai pu charger par le lien) mais en Wav OK...Tester d'autres versions d'audacity jusqu'à ce que vs trouvez la bonne .

Il mio prodotto è giunto non funzionante. Ho dovuto rispedirlo indietro. Il venditore ha immediatamente provveduto al rimborso. Resta il fatto che questo tipo di apparecchietti non li ritengo affidabili. Forse (anzi sicuramente) è meglio collegare una vecchia piastra stereo direttamente alla scheda audio del PC per fare il lavoro di conversione e trasporto. Certo che avevo pensato a questa soluzione a basso costo per risparmiare tempo, ma così non è stato, almeno nel mio caso. Nulla posso dire sulla qualità della conversione audio, non avendola potuta provare.
