unique educational toy
This review is for Popular Playthings Gravity BloxI was excited to try these blocks and it turns out my 4 year old is too. Before I could even sit down with her to explain them or show any directions she grabbed them and started playing. She figured out on her own that the directions contain several patterns to try and recreate. There are three different weighted blocks. All the blue have no weight. Greens have centered weight. Oranges have a weight on the side. There are four blocks of each color. It requires some strategy to complete each given pattern. The patterns are listed from easy to hard. For the easy patterns you are given the colors needed. As it gets harder the directions slowly put in “gray” blocks to the patterns which means you need to figure out the color on your own to make it work. This would be a great addition to a classroom, rotation system or homeschooling skill. They store nicely in the box provided which is always a plus for organization.I think these are a great toy, not sure they are worth the $22 however.I'd recommend for ages 4-7

Toy for young kids
These aren’t quite what I was expecting. I guess it was just wishful thinking that these would be desk fidgets; that you could build impressive little structures on your desk to amaze others. But these truly are toys for young children. They are plastic and lightweight. It’s a novel idea. But not for my kids who are all older than 8.These will be a cool gift for younger kids though.

Unique and Challenging Toy
I’m excited to use these to challenge my Pre-K students, but first I gave them to my nine-year-old brother to try without telling him what they were. Immediately he started questioning why they didn’t act the way he expected them to, and they kept his interest for a long time. I can see these being a useful tool for encouraging problem solving, especially for children who love building.I think it would be cool if the outer texture was different than just smooth plastic. The texture they have feels slightly cheap in my opinion, and they are LOUD when they fall (which will happen often with these). A different texture (maybe one to muffle the sound?) and a slightly lower price would give this five stars.

Fun toy for kids and adults
This is a great STEM toy. My kids (7 and 11) and my wife played with it. The blocks are weighted in different ways, affecting how you can stack them. A booklet comes with them that presents stacking challenges for you to master. Very fun. I recommend this for ages 6-12

Age is key
So these blocks are fun, however fun is always subjective to the user. While our 5 year is willing to try to make the shapes from the booklet and learn how to properly use them. Our 3 year old sees them as domino blocks, stacking blocks, and sometimes he stirs them in a bucket to cook. Our 3 year old while he does sometimes try to play properly he just rather use his imagination with these. Overall the block are tough, sturdy, and the balance is well places in each block. The balanced weight gives us the challenge to use center of gravity as our guide. They're well made and works as intended by user.

Can’t wait to use these with students
I’ve been searching for STEM products I could use with my students and these are the answer. I played around with them already and it definitely requires a deeper level of thinking to utilize these in creative ways. The dark ones have no weight, green is full weight and orange is half weight so you have to balance them just right on one another. Definitely a great learning tool/toy to challenge children.

Unique, fun and challenging
I have never seen blocks like these before. Each color block has a different weight. The booklet has 34 building challenges that get harder as you progress. This is a very fun way to improve critical thinking skills, fine motor, hand eye coordination and problem solving. It is very well made and everything fits perfectly in the box for storage. Highly recommend!
