Boy's Book of Adventure: The Little Guidebook for Smart and Resourceful Boys

My grandson(age 6) has this book in German, this is his mother tongue. I found it so good that I wanted a copy in English for when he came to stay. Really full of super things to do with Kids indoors as well as outside. He is a Little Young for many of the ideas but I find that's fine as he can have a few years of fun. Interestig for Girls too!

This book is packed full of things to make and do... very informative for a young boy... a proper adventure book he loves it ...

love this book, I searched a long time for the ideal present for my 6 year old grand son, this is brilliant, love the flip pages, and the fact that the pages are wipeable. covers all the outdoor activities he loves

Full of good texts and pictures from a broad range of topics in nature, from stars, insects to building a tent, ideal for interested kids who are exploring. Texts of each one idea/craft/knowledge are kept short and sweet, and they are easy to follow with no need of uncommon materials . Perfect for 8-10 years to read by themselves and be inspired. It is my hope that my son is inspired by these ideas and start to grow me some tomatoes, and even be tempted to read more about subjects like astronomy, geology, etc.. Not happy as other reviews about the notice on the cover "No Girls Allowed". Another thing: talking about riding a bike, they say, always ride on the right, which of course is wrong in UK. I know this is translated from French, but the editor should have corrected this!

This book had a print production problem. Pages 25,28,29 and 32 were spoiled and unfathomable as they were overlaid on top of other pages written in French. This has let down an otherwise excellent book which was bought as a gift. Update: I re-ordered this and the second copy was fine - so highly recommend.

My 5 year old absolutely loves this book, he goes to sleep reading it most nights and has even shoe and telled it to his friends at school

Our 10-year old son LOVES this book. He reads the activities, and has already tried out a few of the "adventures". Lots of fun!

I bought this as a gift for my 9 year old nephew and he absolutely loves it! It was a lot of fun just to browse through it myself, too. The illustrations are great and there are so many things offered in this book. There's information about the wilderness, survival techniques, animals, stars, how to read signs, and there's also instructions of how to build things and how to play different games. In the back of the book there are stickers and pages designated for notes and sketches. Overall, this is a really fun book, it's interactive, and it's very playful, and age appropriate. I highly recommend!

Absolutely the best book I have EVER seen for a child. There is so much in this book I myself couldn't put it down. I bought this for my great nephew who just turned three. I spend almost all my time in nature that I can. I want to teach my nephew all that I can about nature, survival, camping, hunting, navigation, fishing, wild edibles etc and this book is a fun way to do it. There are so many great fun activities to make his education fun along the way. I love that there is a journal and note section in the back where he can keep his own journal along the way through the years. What I don't like, is that this is specific to boys only. The information in this book is amazing and should be for boys and girls. I find that the girls book is lacking in what it provides unlike the boys book. I wish they had made the books for children in general and made them book 1 and book 2.

Great ideas for entertaining kids
