Charbonnel et WalkerPink Champagne Truffles, 135g

Bought these for my mum and she loves the flavour. Has the zing of Champagne and with a lovely undercurrent of strawberry - and chocolate of course. Charbonnel et Walker chocolate is really delicious and, while it’s definitely a premium product and quite expensive, it’s definitely worth it for the luxury taste! I’m not sure of the cocoa content, but it sure is delicious, regardless. Plus the packaging is really high-end for a thoughtful, good quality gift.

These are very nicely presented chocolates that are perfect to give as a gift. I usually buy my wife a box for birthday/Christmas and luckily get to eat some! They taste wonderful.

Mmmmm!!! Perfect for chocoholics

Many years ago I received a little box of these truffles in the post as a thank you for completing an online survey for an independent company. When I noticed them on Amazon UK in an actual box with more than the 2 I had, I knew that I had to buy them - not for myself, but for a friend who adores the Charbonnel et Walker brand. She was delighted with these Pink Marc de Champagne chocolates and I eventually ordered a box for myself to see what all the fuss is about.I have received other truffles as gifts over the years by other brands. From Marks & Spencer to Fortnum & Mason as well as Tesco & Co Op versions. In this luxuriously stylish round box, the 8 round balls contained within are a delight to look at cradled in their own brown paper concertina containers rather than consume. The box smells of chocolate and the lightest champagne fragrance though it would be good to have more of the same given the luxury and quality.The actual taste is a bit of surprise for me. Whilst the round balls look great, there seems to be far too much chocolate that is overly sweet and not much of a champagne taste. Light strawberry fills my mouth easily, but again it is very sweet. For an indulgent chocoholic, these truffles are a dream come true. For the cost price it's a fair amount to pay for. I like them as gifts for friends who love chocolate, but for a bigger depth of alcohol and contrasting bitterness, I'm inclined to stay with the more understated of luxury brands. (c)NR2 2016.
