Better than the brace from my doc
I was given a brace for my right thumb last year by my ortho doc. Recently, my left thumb started to bother me so I got one of these. I found out it's easier to put on and take off and much more comfortable to wear than the one from my doctor. So I'm replacing my old right brace with another of these. Not sure how long they will last, but for this price, it doesn't matter that much.

Glad I got this one.
This is an excellent brace and I'm glad I bought it.-velcro is holding up perfectly after 2 months of daily use and constantly putting on and taking off. Other braces lasted less than 2 months before the velcro failed completely.-mobility constriction is focused on thumb bottom two joints and wrist so palm and fingers have much more breathing space and movement than other braces I've tried.-thumb piece is set and forget, no adjusting 2-4 straps every time. Only one for the wrist when putting it on. SO easy. Mine is off and on again a million times a day so this quick release and reset is wonderful!-only con I can see is more of a "me" thing than actual con. I'm constantly checking that the metal interior bracing isn't coming out. It only sneaks a tiny amount (maybe 1/8" at most) out of the arm piece but my hyper aware brain has me constantly pushing it back in like it's going to fall out or something. It's not but I'd prefer something to secure it in place so that annoying little corner of my mind could forget about it. A snap-able flap or something? When this one wears out I'll repurchase it again bc it's much better than other options I've tried for just a little more money. Well worth it.

Works well
This worked well while my wrist was healing. Kept my wrist straight and prevented bending it. Its Comfortable and nicely padded but is a little hot. The thumb area has an adjustable strap, a nice feature because I did need to adjust it. Was easy to put on and take off. The Velcro stayed in place while I slept. You do need to be careful with the fabric of your clothes. Velcro will snag if you’re not careful. Overall nice design, made well and did what it was supposed to.

Comfortable
The media could not be loaded. I had another brace before, but it caused a lot of irritation from the rubbing every time I took it on and off. The silky material on the top of the wrist makes it more comfortable, and instead of using full Velcro, it only has a small section. It also helps keep it cleaner, which I really appreciate—Velcro always seems to pick up everything.

OK wrist brace, looks really nice
This brace did not fit well, especially the thumb area. The strap that goes around the thumb has a seam that has the abrasive loopy fabric exposed to your skin. So in addition to being rather short (didn’t go past the thumb joint so your thumb was not really kept immobile), it was so scratchy. The rest of the brace has just one adjustment tab (attached with four elastic cords coming from points along the length of the braces) that you pull over to tighten. As a result, not everyone can have the same fit. For me, it was snug at the two middle points where the elastic cords were attached and loose at the top and bottom points. Also, the material was not breathable, which added to the discomfort. It was good for keeping my wrist immobilethat was the best part of this brace. However, if I kept it on for a little while, my thumb would get numb. And the hand portion of the brace did not fit me well.

Great brace, however, did not solve my De Quervain's Tenosynovitis
First, this brace is exactly like the one my Doctor's office tried to sell me for $275.00. Fortunately, I was smart enough not to fall for that trick! I wore this brace for a couple of months and it DID help. However, I spend my days at a keyboard and the brace was much too restrictive to type. The hand doctor instructed me to wear it 23 hours a day which is impossible unless I quit my job and stop typing. So I only got partial relief because I could not follow the instructions. I then bought a slightly different brace on Amazon that was $10 and put my thumb in the optimal position (like this brace does), but with a much smaller burden on my hand and wrist. And most importantly, I can wear it while typing. I've worn that for 23 hours a day for about a month and I have no more pain unless I turn my thumb in an odd way. So just passing along that while there's nothing wrong with this brace, I found something else that worked better for me .
