Polarpro Red Filter for Gopro Hero5,Black,H5B-1001-SS

Excellent - well made product; fits really snugly around the relevant part of the standard (40m-rated) housing of my GoPro Hero, but is easy to put on and remove. Nice to have a soft case included to prevent it getting scratched. (To avoid the knot on the "lanyard" (bit of string) undoing itself, as some have reported, just put a match to the knot and melt it a little so that it fixes it in place. Result: no slippage. Obviously, you can't then undo the knot - but much more secure and practical to clip it on, rather than trying to undo/re-tie a knot anyway.)

Excellent product, I used this while diving and was very pleased with the colour and footage quality! The only reason I held back from giving it 5 stars is because the knot in the string that is supplied to attach the filter to your gopro, came undone, had I not read a previous review warning about this, I would have easily lost the filter. Also, it was often a bit stiff to get off, but once it was on doing its job, it done it very well.

If utilised in the right lighting conditions (blue water rather than green, if green use magenta filter) the filter is fantastic. Really brings out the full colour range. Do not use when night diving - you have a torch / flood light, attenuation of red light over that distance will be minimal. Ensure the tie cord is double knotted and secure so you don't lose the lens. When you first dive remove the filter and give it a gentle shake underwater to dislodge any trapped bubbles. For reference I dived on the pacific side of Costa Rica down to ~35m.

Good filter, snaps in place well and is secure on the lens housing. Results were good on video and photos taken down to 30 metres in blue water. BUT: first thing you need to do is change the feeble piece of thread that should secure the filter to the housing. On my third dive using the filter we surfaced into some moderate surface current. I took the filter off to film some video on the surface - and the string parted and goodbye filter... So, nice product but as soon as you get it find a better way to secure it to your housing when its not on the lens... Otherwise its expensive.

Great lens which doesn't reduce the light into the camera too much. It's expensive but it is worth the difference in price to the cheaper lenses which are much darker and don't let enough light into the gopro to get decent image quality. If you've already paid for diving and the gopro, pay the extra for this lens over the cheaper options and take care of it.

Not good. The glass part fell out and was lost soon after starting to use it. The manufacturer suggests that I should claim from Amazon rather than accepting responsibility themselves.

Used this in the Red Sea, except I didn't really get to use it. My first giant stride off the back of the boat on the first day of diving and the housing of the filter broke. Im talking about the black frame around the filter, so it wouldn't stay attached to the camera. Now I might have knocked it on the way in, but seeing as the GoPros are pretty robust, you would think that the filter was made to be also pretty robust. Not the case. I tried fixing the filter to the camera with a bot of electrical tape, but being in salt water it wasn't that effective. Shouldn't have been needed though.

Great filter - I always use it on my dives and with some back lighting, the videos turn out great (up to 30m)! The string that comes with it is a little flimsy so might be wiser to attach the filter to your GoPro with something sturdier instead; I use a cable tie since mine is pretty much permanently attached!

il vien ce clipsé sur le gopro sans vis ni rien, il tien trés bien en place. il se clips si bien que l'eau a du mal a ce glisser entre le filtre et la vitre de la gopro se qui laisse des bulle devant l'objectif du cou je le clips une fois sous l'eau comme ça pas de bulle. tres solide et les video faite sont vraimant mieu. seul chose a savoir si on film ver le haut (surface) depuis le fond ça fait tout rouge style surface en feu mais pour le reste c'est niquel.

Es un accesorio muy necesario para las grabaciones submarinas con la carcasa de hasta 60 metros. Hace las veces de filtro y de macro.

A bit hard to fit but that seems to be a good thing.
