Works very well
I bought this adapter to use with a 30 y/old Olympus Zuiko 50mm f1.8 on my Canon EOS 600D. Delivery was very fast from the USA and the adapter is very quick and easy to use. No problems connecting it to the lens, just twists on, and it had a very good fit with the camera body... not too tight and no noticeable movement. You can leave it attached to the lens when not in use as the Canon lens end-piece will screw directly onto the adapter. I've also tried it successfully with an old Olympus 135mm lens. On video mode the camera initially gave a "no lens error" but still recorded without a problem. This version does not have the focus confirmation chip - if focusing is a problem it's worth trying the Magic Lantern firmware which has some software focus aids, but with the live view screen zoomed in it's not too difficult to get a decent focus. I rated this as five stars because it does exactly what it's supposed to do: no frills but it's well made and easy to operate; and for less than £25 delivered it makes a whole load of legacy lenses available for dSLRs.

Great but of camera kit.
My husband suggested I try this for my new to me canon 500d rather than paying a few hundred pounds for new lenses, glad I did. It works a treat. The body does loose some digital features but for manual lense work it's great. It IS a tight fit to get off. Don't panic, you will soon get the hang of it.

Great Adapter
I needed to connect my nikon 50mm AI lens to my canon D650 camera and it work a treat! with this old lens the adapter did not 'click' into place as such but the connection was nice and tight with no play and no need to modify with tacky bits of paper for a snug fit. The adapter at the camera end did click into place however and fits perfectly. word of warning: do not attempt to take your lens off the adapter while fitted to the camera! press the release button on the camera and remove both the adapter and lens together, then remove your lens from your adapter. That way you don't run the risk of doing what I did with a previous adapter, and end up having to force the adapter from the lens after it became stuck due to trying to be clever and change lens on the fly during a shoot, because I tried to swap lens out to save time and wrongly attached the lens to the adapter while still attached to my canon, resulting in it becoming jammed. Suffice to say I've learnt from a quite 'common' mistake the hard way, and thought I'd pass this info on. Apart from this, a great product, and efficient service with an incredible fast dispatch given the distance !! buy with confidence.

shit happenz
Earlier I ordered a few pieces of this black aluminium m42 to eos adaptor from foto-diox and all went well, very well, so well, that I decided to order one more piece, eg this item, and than all started to to turn out NOT well. The piece I received was a black aluminium one but had not, like on the photo, the flange for pressing the aperture pin. So I sent a complaint to fotodiox, who were so nice to send me a replacement piece. But unfortunately this piece, although it did have that flange, turned out totally different from the ones I had ordered before, and again differed from the black aluminium one on the picture. This replacement piece was of very heavy blank and sharp-edged ill manufactured metal, and had an absolute bad fit on the camera, damaging the mount, so it turns out UNusable. Made a complaint again to fotodiox, and now they want me to pay for the postage of returnsending and all the more keep open the possibility that they will judge that the second piece is "ok" and thus will not refund me. OK, I decided to buy at fotodiox coz previous were so good, and now foto-diox completely lets me down. All the faults on their side and my money gone for having two unusable adaptors. A one-star rating is in fact too much, well lets say one star for the fuzz ;-( FA

Not a trustworthy piece of kit
As with most cheap adapters, getting infinity focus is nigh on impossible, plus when fitted the camera there is movement between the adapter and the body, thus making any form of accurate focusing a gamble. Not the best, but cheap...you get what you pay for

Works well but it i difficult to remove
Works well but is difficult to remove. If you can leave it in the lens could be a solution if you have to remove it often is not so good.

Great bit of kit, does the trick.
Ordered 15th Jan, arrived on the 23rd - not bad considering it came all the way from the U S of A. Anyway, it does exactly what you want it to - I now have an 'old' (mid-late 80's) Nikon E Series 50mm lens fitted to my Canon 600D. Now I can shoot at f1.8 and get much, much better shots in low light. For only £18.95 I can use old lenses that I inherited from my Grandfather on a modern day Canon camera. The only reason I've given it 4 out of 5 is because it is not a 100% perfect fit... there is a little bit of movement/rattle but I must stress that this is minimal and does not affect shooting. If you want to use auto focus etc then get the next model up, but for manual shooting this little adaptor is perfect. Great for manual focus pulling in video mode too. Very happy.

Before you purchase, read this!
The product has great quality and feels sturdy and durable considering the price. Be aware that the ring only allows you connect your Nikon lenses to your canon body by mechanical methods. This means you will not be able to control the auto-focus and aperture of the lens, as this adaptor does not connect the lens contacts to the body. The adaptor has a locking mechanism, ensuring that your lens does not come off when in use and makes it easier for you to remove the lens from the body. This adaptor is an inexpensive ideal alternative to the higher priced adaptors for prime lenses or lenses that have f. stop and focus rings, as you will not be able to use the body to control any features of the lens. I bought this for my Canon 70D to use a Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm prime lens and it works perfectly.

Bon produit, bonne finition !
