Nikwax BASE WASH, High Performance Deodorising Sports Fabric Cleaner & Conditioner, Cleans & Inhibits Odour Build-up

Great product, used this for years on my sports clothing, hiking baselayers and socks. What I really like is on multi day walks I can wear the same garment the following day and any odour has dispersed.

Effective cleaning product reasonably priced

Prime delivery the next day. I have used this product previously and rate it 10/10. It does what it says and washes 'next to skin' technical clothing better than anything else I know. I use it on Rohan, Paramo and Tilley clothing, excellent!

It works but I am not sure it works better than non bio detergents but I have so much invested in high tech clothing I will stick with it. It is certainly not cheap.

Leaves a nice refreshing smell and appears to prolong the freshness feel of the garments. No noticeable loss thermodynamics/ efficiency of fabric after multiple uses. Ideal fro washing other tech fabrics ie Coolmax, under-armour tee-shirts, underwear etc.. In fact anything that is not waterproof or wind resistant material (use tech wash). I use this for my first and second layer technical clothing only including underwear. Its just the cost that makes using this liquid expensive per wash cycle, especially If you only have a few items. I use mine direct in the drum using a spare plastic ball/lotion container from other well known liquid soap suppliers. I find it is best to use directly inside the drum. Ideal just a little expensive so keep for your technical material/more expensive clothing. Although to u.se a semi-full load I have used with standard clothing with similar results. Not essential for technical clothing care but you do notice the difference in feel between using this and bog-standard washing solutions. a long lasting freshness is a great feeling when using the garment especially after 3+ days with no shower. i.e. wild camping..

Use it to clean my hiking gear (tops, knicks, shorts and socks). Usually every 10 days. Leaves a fresh clean smell and by using 50ml per wash, lasts me 6 months, so very cost efficient.

Worked surprisingly well removing the odour from my synthetic running tops which get heavy use and don’t seem to wash out even after a couple of normal washes. What I like also is unlike most Nikwax products where you don’t get to treat that many garments with each bottle, with this product it’s 50ml per wash (not per garment) so it will go further, and I’m really pleased with the results. Definitely recommend.

This product is a Godsend! I run severaldays a week and my base layer pants and tops always have a funk in certain areas that just wouldn’t go away. I would pre-treat and scrub the problem areas before normal washes but the stench was still there just masked with the scent of detergent. I ran across this product on a YouTube channel for trail running and figured I would given it a try. I read the good and bad reviews and decided to take a chance. It WORKED! I followed the instructions and washed my clothes in WARM water (even if the tag said cold) and they came out like new! No more funky scents! Completely gone! As for the product scent itself, it smells like a cleaning product with a small hint of lemon IMO. It’s completely tolerable and it beats the funk ANY day. If you want to continue to wear your gear, this is a great investment. I was considering throwing some of my base layers away, but now they are saved!

Cycling clothes are expensive, and their fabrics are meant to manage sweat and body temperatures. Normal detergents include all kinds of extras to make them smell nicer, at the cost of degrading the functional aspects of your cycling clothes.I use Nikwax Basewash for all my cycling clothes to allow them to perform properly against my skin, but while still cleaning them properly.

This takes the stinkiness out of my golf clothes that can happen with artificial fabrics next to the skin. Leaves a nice, clean light scent and some water repellancy.
