Prompt delivery and well packaged
I decided that as my previous pressure cooker was over 30yrs old and rather large and heavy, that it was time to replace for a smaller one. After much searching online I finally decided to order this 3 litre pressure cooker from Tower. It arrived well packaged with easy to follow instructions, all very straightforward. The cooker itself is an excellent size for 2 persons, it is well made as to be expected with clear and concise controls.I think that this is excellent value for money and will hopefully last for several years to come.

Should have bought this earlier. So easy to handle. Great for a couple downsizing.

It's great for cooking Indian Dhal dishes
I bought it mainly to cook pulses soft, as I found soaking and hob cooking alone insufficient at getting them down soft enough for my liking. This pressure does the job brilliantly. To ensure the dishes retain lots of flavour, I only cook the pulses with water in this pressure cooker. Then I fry the other seasoning and additional ingredients in another normal cooking pan, like for instance the onions, garlic, spices, tomatoes, potatoes, etc. I cook for a family of 5 who eat adult portions (I've got 3 teens and a husband) and this 3L pressure cooker is adequate for cooking the amount of pulses my family requires for a meal. I think it would be just about big enough as well if I wanted to cook the entire dhal dish in this pressure cooker, but I'd never do that as I don't think it would be as flavourful to cook an entire dish in this. It's great, works as it should, absolutely no leaking or anything like that, and because I only cook the pulses in water in this pressure cooker, there is no burning on of food into the surface or anything like that and I found it easy to clean and dry. This is my first ever pressure cooker, and I was a bit scared at first of things going wrong, as I've read the negative reviews on here, but thankfully nothing bad ever happened. I strongly recommend you watch some YouTube videos about how to use pressure cookers to cook, before using this. Otherwise things could indeed, go wrong.

Superb.
Really love this pressure cooker. I've used pressure cookers for years. Before I bought this I was using an excellent older stainless steel 6L Tefal model and as I live alone it was too big really and was a hassle to clean. My shortlist for a small pressure cooker was the Russell Hobbs 2.7 L and the vonshef 3 L and this one. I ruled out the Russell Hobbs because it didn't go up to full power, this Tower goes up 14.5 psi, and has two pressure settings. The Vonshef looked very good but I thought it was too flat, you have to have a bit of space above your food. The closer it is the more risk of fouling steam valve. I used to have a wide that pressure cooker many years ago and is very nice as well, excellent for meat where there is a lot of browning and flying. Incidentally terms of the metal base that is in contact with the hob the Vonshef has a 7 inch base this Tower one has 6 1/4 inch diameter metal base.I'm a pressure cooker connoisseur and I really think pressure cooker is absolutely fantastic. Maybe the interior could have been polished up slightly more, but that's about it. The steam basket is excellent as well. Before first use though it needs a thorough clean around the edge where the lid clamps because there was a little bit of black grease from manufacturing. I don't really understand why this hasn't got more reviews, maybe it's a new product. The interior diameter is 20 cm so you can use standard saucepan lids. The whole thing weighs 1.83 kg and the pan is roughly 10 cm tall measuring from inside. This is the first pressure cooker with a spring steam valve and I'm sure it all works fine although I feel a little sad but I wonder if this is really a progression over using a weighted pressure valve. My old Tower pressure cooker has a retained weighted valve, which I have not taken off for years it just works no fuss, this new sprung design is a rather rickety spring and plastic affair. But it's one that almost all the new pressure cookers use. The advantage being it can switch between dual pressure very well. My old pressure cooker tried but can't do low-pressure properly. And lower pressure is very important for vegetables or more delicate foods. It's got a great thick metal base for no hotspots. As far as I'm concerned this is highly recommended.
