COLGATE Toothbrush Orthodontic Compact Soft

Was looking for something for my teenage son after he just had his braces fitted.The standard toothbrush didn't quite do the job & was causing a bit of discomfort. I found this which has a raised layer of bristles either side of the brush to allow it to brush over the brace. He found this much better & has used it consistently since buying it rather than going back to a standard brush.

I have a brace fitted and this is recommended by the orthodontist. Work fine but don't hold their shape very long.

Good quality and value toothbrush for my daughter who has braces.

Both my children currently have braces and these brushes are efficient yet gentle on the gums and teeth. The slightly smaller sized head means that molar areas are easy to access and clean thoroughly; the V shaped bristles enable the areas around the orthodontic wires to be properly cleaned without rapidly destroying the brush.Well worth the money.

Had my brace on for 3 months now, and couldn't live without this product. My dentist recommended it to me as the 'v' shaped bristles will brush over the brackets and allow access to the gum line and teeth without damaging the brace itself. Only problem I've had is that they come to the end of their life a bit faster than a regular toothbrush (I'm replacing approx. every 6 weeks) but I suspect that may be because I'm now brushing my teeth up to 6 times a day!!

Nearly a month ago I had braces fitted on my top teeth, and as a result, of course, I had to acquire a whole selection of "ortho" products. This was my second brush (another one was Oral B, which I cannot find on amazon.co.uk). Colgate Ortho is specifically designed to clean teeth in and around braces, it has soft outer bristles and harder inner bristles (to perfect the process of cleaning around brackets and wires). Sounds good, right?BUT: When I was brushing my teeth for the first time ever with this Colgate Ortho brush, one of the longer bristles came out and got stuck in my brackets. I had to remove it with the aid of my hands, as no amount of brushing and rinsing my mouth helped to disengage the bristle. This has never happened with my Oral B Ortho brush. The Colgate Ortho brush is not very durable. I find, just after a couple of weeks of using it the top outer bristles are no longer aligned.The pack says that it is recommended to replace your toothbrush every 3 months, I sense that it will be much earlier when I will have to replace it (also due to the fact that I am brushing my teeth religiously after every meal, to avoid any "food stuck in braces" embarrassment moments!).The verdict: it's okay, not the best on the market.
