They're good with a decent sauce.
No real flavour but if you put a decent spag bol sauce on it then it works fine. And it fills you up too if you're on a very low carb diet. I've bought these a few times now.

Losing weight
I’ve lost 2 stone since eating slim pasta. They have a weird fishy smell when you first open them so I rinse them thoroughly and then boil in salted water which completely removes the smell. The texture is rubbery but I quite like that. Add whatever sauce you want and it’s a great low calorie dinner.

What the?!
Whats wrong with every one saying this is amazing!?! It is NOT pasta at all. I have an italian bfnd and my GOD, was i embarrassed I tried eating this. I was shocked not to have got dumped, knowing how much Italians are into their pasta. Anyway, Penne has a gap in the middle...THIS imitation is just plastic/flesh material with no gap, just white, wormy/fleshy thing, like biting into chunk of muscle. I dont know why people are lying..how can this be possible likened to the real pasta penne?! Maybe i am becoming too italian, but this irritated my stomach for two days, i wanted to poop..but i was too scared to, incase these fleshy things came out. Anyway, i bought 5 packets..4 left and i wont even feed this to my dog (if i had one, and if i fed it to the dog pretty sure I would have the RSPCA on my case). It was so gross, it just slimes around in your mouth, like worm, bogey, flesh. Then has a plasticy bite to it. It felt like it was all alive in my pasta sauce, i expected it to wiggle out of my plate..not to mention the nightmares i had that same night!I saw a review saying its like bogies..YES IT IS LIKE BOGIES. You know like those big fat white swiggly bogies that just hang on for dear life in your nose..thats what this is liike!!No wonder they do not show pictures of this on the packet. People...if you want to lose weight..just follow a healthy LOW CARB diet..your body needs carbs to function! Writing about this has bought the trauma back of watching this white fleshy bits in my pasta sauce. Absolutely the most vile thing i have ever eaten. I cant even bring myself to look at the remaining packets to bin them...I have hidden the rest from my italian boyfriend until I am able to bin them. He might freak if he saw these fake pasta hidden away. Those who like it..REALLY?!?!..those who are thinking about buying it..I wish i found an honest review like this on Amazon. Search elsewhere, you will find how many more are disgusted by this.HEED THIS ADVICE!!! This is not pasta, it wil bel like you are eating tasteless bogies

Not bad - But No Slimming Food Tastes a La Carte and I knew this would be no exception....
I bought this first from a health food shop. It sat in my cupboard for ages after I happen to hear of a friend of a friend trying it who said it was horrible! I then started reading reviews on it on Amazon, most were negative (some just rude and childish!)and a few that were positive described them as having NO taste unless you put lots of sauce on. I thought this is perfect! I don't want those funny white things to have taste that I might not like, I want carb type food to fill me up without adding to the calorie intake of real pasta, which I love - so I took mine out of the cupboard and got cooking. I rinse them well (really well as the reviews said they had a funny smell, I chopped up some garlic and once I thought the funny white things were rinsed off well enough I through them into the pan with some (low cal) pasta sauce, sweetcorn and added some dried chillies to add some fire! It wasn't bad. Yes, it had a squidy texture but I like squid. The white penne stuff itself had no taste but absorbed the taste of the sauce I made. It filled me up as much as a pasta dish would for my lunch. So for a low cal diet option, I have to say I like it enough to buy some more! I ordered 5 packets from Amazon and hopefully they will arrive tomorrow for my lunch!!P.s No diet food tastes good unless you have the time to cook healthily breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is not a bad alternative if you can get past the squid texture.

Odd texture, but does what it says.
This is one of the strangest eating experiences I've ever had. I picked this up on a Lightning Deal, a pack of 5 for under £1. Cheaper than Pot Noodles! The reviews are all accurate. When you open the packet, there's another clear vacuum packed bag inside, which your pasta is in, packaged with a clear fluid. Open those up, and there's a definite smell. It's not unpleasant, but it's not exactly nice. Some people have said "dead fish", which I don't agree with. Sort of chemically, I suppose. The look of the pasta isn't really penne tubes as I know them, more sort of squashed strips, penne size, and shiny. I rinsed it a few times in a sieve, as recommended, because I think it's the fluid which the pasta is stored in that has the smell, and not the pasta itself. With the pasta clean, the smell was gone.I added some pasta sauce and microwaved it in a bowl. It looked okay. The pasta hadn't inflated or anything, and still looked like flat strips. It hadn't absorbed the sauce, and looked much as it did when it went in.Now for the crux of it - the eating. The texture is the weirdest thing ever. Someone else has compared it to squid, and that's probably the best description I could give it. Fibrous, chewy, and tasteless. Make sure you use a fairly strong tasting sauce, because there's no taste of the pasta. It wasn't the nicest experience, and just felt really strange. The good point though? Logging my meal on my calorie counter, and seeing it recognise the product as only having 9 calories, even though I felt like I'd had a decent size lunch of pasta. It allowed me to have a really nice dinner.Would I recommend it? I don't know. I guess if you're trying to lose weight, this is certainly a great way to do it. You do feel like you've eaten a good meal after it. If you can get over the awful texture, this might just be perfect for you.
