Why does it say to cut slits into the bag? Surely the whole point it to keep the steam inside...

I think it's so that the steam pressure doesn't build up and explode the bag, but I never slit them. I've been using them for years and I've never had one blow up, even in the microwave. I just tie the neck really loosely so the steam can escape.

Can someone please explain why the roasting bags cant be used in a slow cooker and why the slow cooker ones cost 4x more?

I don’t know why you can’t use them in a slow cooker. I’d probably give it a go but keep an eye on it.

yes i have cooked fish in the oven and in the microwave with these bags they are good keeps things clean

Hi, I think it all depends on the make of air fryer, I have a ninja oven and they do not recommend using these bags in their product. I have used them in just about everything else, they are great bags and I will be buying again when they have run out. Look in your air fryer manual it should have some kind of reference as to what you can and cannot use in the appliance. Hope this helps.
