Yes it does come in pieces. You just need to put the wheels and steering wheel into the main part. I do not know the weight, sorry.

Do you think it would be possible to attach some sort of handle to pull it along on city breaks?

I don't think there is anywhere suitable for a ny kind of handle to pull it,not only that I don't think it would be suitable for that kind of break as if it caught anyone it could cause a cut or a bruise
