Great book
Mostly about business but also about so much more. Insightful and clear breakdowns of how businesses operate, make money (or not) and a wise analysis on company culture self development and managing complex systems. Thoroughly enjoyable - I can see myself reading it again.

An amazing book to read
An eye opener book, I’ve learned so much the past month that I bought it that It feels like I am doing a master MBA without even noticing, great money value for the amount of knowledge you get and examples

Great insighths
Now in my mid-forties, and have spent a lot of my career building business knowledge. Looking to take a step up or launch my own business now I booked a 1-2-1 with my line manager who holds an MBA from University of Jo'burg - was advised that it is a lot of time and expense for no guaranteed pay off at end of career and suggested the a buy a book such as this to confirm and supplement what I already know.About 2/3 of the way through and can see his point. If you have a solid background in business this will confirm what you instinctively know and point you in the direction of what you don't. Pick up a copy <£10 investment is better than >£10000!

This book is helpful to everyone, and especially to those who wants to start their own business.
First, let me just give the disclaimer that I already have an MBA from a well-known university (albeit not a “top tier” one), and this book was written to replace a traditional MBA for people who wouldn’t get their money’s worth out of it. That being said, I actually really liked this book.In the meat of it, the book does a good job defining what a business is and how it functions. It introduces many key concepts and frameworks that would help any entrepreneur or manager build and run a successful business. Surprisingly, a hefty chunk of the book is dedicated to personal self-development. As far as self-help texts go, it’s a good one though.A traditional MBA is expensive, old-fashioned, and unnecessary for all but a few select professions. Even I have to admit that most of what he says is true, but I don’t in any way regret getting my MBA. There are a few extra perks mixed into the traditional MBA that you can’t get in a book, including networking resources, public speaking and professional writing practice, and direct access to experts (professors).

First 20% is Waffle
The first 20% is just the guy talking about how the book is going to change your life and how everyone who has read it has been so much further ahead in the career because of it. I'd recommend skipping this bit. After that though it does have some great content. In some cases it's simply explaining what you may already know but in a way you've never thought about before. For example, different types of things you can sell may seem very obvious but it will covers these in much more granularity... It's something about reading someone else describe these things which makes it a lot more clearer and lets you see it from every angle.I generally quite happy with the book, just think he should've skipped on congratulating himself at the beginning. It would probably put off a lot of people.

Bear with it! After a slow start there's some good stuff in there.
Overall a good purchase, I would recommend it.Minuses - 1) The author starts off with an attack on MBAs and a justification for the book. That is not necessary and doesn't resonate well. I very nearly gave up on it for that reason, so skip the first chapter. 2) This is not anything like an MBA, which is fairly obvious, but I think the title is unnecessarily misleading and should be changed to 'Shortcut to an MBA' or something like that.Pluses -1) The author has done an enormous amount of good research. 2) He covers a large amount of ground 3) He has some good insights on the topics he covers 4) The author narrates and it comes across really well. 5) There are ongoing online resources.Overall a good purchase - I bought it on audio and kindle.
