Don't Switch from TP Link
My old TP Link 1 broke after 10 years so I bought this. Plug and play. Sweet sweet cabled internets throughout my house with gizmos, gadgets and smart TVs getting all the internets it needs. Great project; they last a long time... TP Link are what its all about.

Best office thing I ever bought but NEVER again after contacting TP recently
Wish I’d had this years ago,had been using a second hand Huawei 24 port switch with 4 fans for years in my home office and had gotten used to the drone of the fans and the high electric bill over the yearsThen recently we had a bad lightning storm which killed it and my BT router so I got this and it’s GREAT silent ,half the size of the old one and it works perfectlyTook awhile to get used to the silence LolUPDATE 2021 two years later running fine fully loaded all ports but just on a desktop.Decided it was time to get wiring tidied up and bought a data cabinet and all the peripherals in readiness I still had the box but there were no rack brackets in it I have spent several weeks emailing various TP departments trying to get them to supply the missing brackets to no avail They want so many bits of info it’s comical the last they really insisted on was the bloody serial number of all things So sick to death of all the aggro just for two pieces of metal and a few bolts I cannot proceed without them

NO NOISE!
I had been using an old 10/100 switch for years, but the bearings were going on the fans and it was making weird noises, also it was time to at least get 1gbps. (The old switch owed me nothing really.)I didn’t realise this thing was fanless! You plug it in an there is no sound. I’m still trying to come to terms with all of this, but that aside it does the job fine. As an unmanaged switch, you just plug it in and that’s it, no configuration, only blinky lights and the sound of silence.

Rackmounters beware!
Works well, and seems less fussy about detecting a gigabit connection than a certain desktop switch I've been using. The on-board power supply means one less wallwart, which is always a bonus. However, the screws supplied as part of the rack mounting kit do not fit flush when screwed in. Rather than being countersunk to fit into the holes in the metal plate, they are round-head screws with washers pre-fitted (and good luck trying to get them off!)Result: the whole thing is about 1mm too wide to fit into the rack.I had to get some properly-shaped screws from a bit of kit that was being pulled in order to get this into the rack. If you don't have anything you're decommissioning, you might want to prepare for some frustration.

Great Switch Expensive Mistake
Let's get the expensive mistake out of the way, "Do not work let go of this when mounting the dog ears, in front of a TV/Monitor on your desk", I unfortunately did and the Switch fell and smacked the TV which destroyed the screen :( £850 mistake!!Now onto the switch, this thing is great, mounted in the rack, plugged everything in and they instantly connected to the network and internet. It makes no noise and just works.Happily recommend it.

NOT a POE Switch
This is NOT a POE Switch, it is being sold as such but it does not power any POE devices, it is not listed on the TP Link website as a POE Switch, just a standard switch.

Good reasonably priced gigabit switch
This device was needed for our office as we were relying on 5 port gigabit switches daisy-chained together that really didn't do the job. I looked around for a while to find this - the price was important, but as was the easy of use. I needed something that everyone could understand (i.e. just plug it in and it works) and this is perfect. It does make a little bit of a noise but nothing any louder than a normal computer - it's just a fan!! Overall I'd recommend this product. It's very reasonably priced and works great!UPDATE!This has now been running in our office for over a year, think it might be 18 months now and it's still going strong. The noise hasn't got any louder and it has just worked the whole time. Good solid decent bit of kit.
