The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz: The perfect gift with super-sized pop-ups!

This book is just stunning,every page has a work of art pop up and smaller side pages with more stunning pop ups,it's one of the best pop up books I've ever seen,don't hesitate to get this book you won't be disappointed,I also have the Alice in Wonderland one of these books and it's equally stunning,these books are good for children and adults (who love the wizard of oz),but I'd read with supervision of small children due to the intricate parts of the pop ups so they don't get ripped or broken,a very special book to own

This book now finishes the collection of Robert Sabuda pop up books. Beautiful and enchanting, have put one up each birthday and Christmas for my nearly 3 year old. She isn't allowed to touch them yet although has been shown and then we have saved for her to appreciate as she grows up (and learns to look after books)..

I originally came across the Dinosaur pop-up book and bought it for my son. He absolutely loved it as I do.The books are incredibly intricate and relatively sturdy. The artwork is astonishing and the way the images fold out to create complex 3d pictures is magical. How these books are designed from the original conception to the final product, I have no idea but the effect is amazing.There are usually four main pages that contain the main image that folds out and immediately takes your attention. Thee are also three or four sub-pages or mini books on each page that fold out, in turn, providing even more 3d pictures.The additional writing produces a high level of detail and content to produce a richly satisfying book that both I and my son constantly revisit.They also make perfect presents with a difference!I was so impressed that I have been collecting all the pop-up books by Robert Sabuda.

These books are amazing. They keep my grandchildren mesmerised for hours. Beautiful, beautiful book

I have bought this book as a result of buying Alice in Wonderland pop up book which we so enjoyed. i will repeat for this book what i wrote for that as the same applies! I gave this book 5 stars because it exceeded my expectations and it is exceptional good value for money for its entertainment value.. I bought it for my 11yr old step daughter and we shared the unfolding page by page together and I don't know which one of us enjoyed it the most. It was a magical and enchanting and awe inspiring experience full of surprises and my step daughter read the story to me with relish & wonderment. The only criticism I do have is that this book is so special ( as are all Robert Sabuda's pop up books) that it deserves to have a sleeve and a clasp even if it added to the price because it would keep it safer when storing & it would give it the importance it deserves. Don't think of this book as just a child's book, any age group would enjoy it. Young children should be supervised though as it would be such a shame if it got ripped as this book is definitely one to keep and pass on generation to generation.

This book is true plesure from start to finish, it had some of the best pop up art that I have ever seen in any other pop up books. It sticks to the original book narrative rather than the movie version (silver slippers rather than the ruby ones that are portrayed in the legendary movie ). If you have read the Baym book then you will know it can get very dark in some chapters & is not surprising that there was mass changes when MGM decided to turn it in to a lovable children's movie. The book has so many great pop up features like on the 1st page you turn & there is a tornado spinning in circles up the page to the melting motion of the Wicked Witch, the house that lands in the Munchkin town (you can even see the other Wicked Witches legs sticking out,the Emerald City is magnificent and the Wizards balloon raising up straight in front of you. There is much more to this highly recommendable book than I can write down on this review but if you are into The Wizard of Oz then this is a must have book for your collection. *****

The page with the emerald city is marvellous and very well done. The whole book is incredible and the art style reminds me more of the original books. Luckily this book is catered more towards children and it has a great pace. I bought this as a present for my young daughter and she loved it. The intricate details and the way it all moves and connects is incredible. Endless fun can be had opening and closing the book and admiring the complexity of the 3D components. The story is split up evenly into little bits and pieces on each page and some of the text requires the reader to open up little sections. A lot of fun to be had here and it is among the best 3D books I have ever seen.
