Fantastic value
Bought to replace defunct old tv and what an amazing piece of kit, especially for the price. Setup was a little fiddly as the fire-tv needed to download several updates before it properly came to life but I am more than happy with the whole package. The QLED display gives a crystal clear picture, albeit a little too saturated with colour but that’s easily adjusted and cleverly for different inputs. The feed via a terrestrial antenna is balanced to my preference, separately to the inputs from cable and my old dvd player. Sound is also impressive with a nice balance from the inbuilt speakers and a sufficiently powerful bass. One of the best features is the compatibility with Apple AirPlay which allows big screen access to photos and video from my iPhone or iPad. The ability to play media from my GoPro by using the phone or pad is brilliant, with true 4K video quality too! As for the price point, well it took a fair amount of reading through previous reviews to convince me that the TCL Fire-TV was really as good as it is. I know my son paid in excess of £2k for his similarly specified Sony TV and there’s absolutely nothing to choose between them, apart from the massive difference in price.

Great picture and excellent speakers
At first i thought there was something wrong with the TV, after filtering all the instructions on running it in i want able to watch anything in amazon, Netflix or YouTube. Despite the home screen showing on all of the above apps it just wouldn't play, in the end out of frustration i turned it off, when i turned it back in everything was working great, so if you're having the same problem remember once you've tuned it in make sure you turn it off then on again to complete the running, it doesn't mention this in the very limited instructions. I've now had the TV for three weeks and i couldn't be happier, i turned the back-light to 100%, this ensures you get excellent colours and really dark/ black areas, best picture quality I've had on a telly. The inbuilt speakers are also top quality, they are so good I've not connected my soundbar (TV is in main bedroom). For the money you pay for this you can't go wrong, fantastic value for money.

Great Value TV - I hope
I just bought the 50" version in the Black Friday sale and I have to say I was a bit sceptical on how good it would be for this low price. Picture first; after playing around with the picture for over a week and turning off some of the noise cancelling I think I pretty much have it almost there and now the picture quality is impressive for the price. Great colours and as long as you select the correct mode: Sport, Game, Movie etc then once tweaked its very good. However, I have noticed that the picture starts to fade when you move out of the direct viewing angle which is a bit disappointing (hence 1 star deducted). Sound: I have mine through a amp so can't really comment. I use mine as an Internet TV so no aerial connected. The apps all work well I have Prime, Disney+, Netflix, BBC iPlayer and then I found the first big issue. There is no ITV Hub App in the APP store (soon to be ITVX which you may have already on your mobile phone). Yes there is Freeeview Play which has ITV Hub embedded but no live TV only catch-up on this APP. I looked on the ITV Hub website and saw that ITV Hub is not supported on older devices - one being the TCL 6 Series. Hmm not good on a brand new TV. To get around the problem I plugged my 4K Firestick in the back from my old TV and hey ho I have it back but plugging a Firestick into a Fire TV is not a good answer - one star deducted. I have posted a question on Amazon but not got a reply as yet. So in conclusion a good value TV with a good picture once you mess around with it a bit. My biggest worry is the software and will it be updated to keep up with APP updates like ITVX; I hope so or this TV may have to go back as I don't want to have to plug other devices into it to get the basics. UPDATE: I can now confirm ITVX is available and works well.

Easy set up - great sound and picture
Absolutely brilliant - the best TV I've ever bought and hold it's own when compared to TV' two and three times as much. I think I only paid £345 for this TV - I mean a few years ago I paid twice that for a TV with a much smaller screen and much less facilities. The picture quality is good out of the box and I haven't had to adjust it. The sound quality is good and not tinny like some Budget TVs. The fact that this is a Fire TV is a bonus. The remote control is easy to use and has an audio function to select TV channels by speech. The TV was easy to set up and I have enjoyed watching it over the past few months since I purchased it through Amazon.

Absolute TRIPE! DO NOT BUY
Absolutely NOT impressed with this trash. Purchased it Feb 23, so it isn;t 3 years old yet. Bought it with the matching TCL sound bar at the time so cost a pretty packet. The soundbar did not last a year. The remote did not last a year. The TV has not made it to 3 years. We only have it switched on for 3 hours an evening. first of all the voice control stopped working, then the remote stopped working and had to be replaced. The sound bar has never properly worked with it, the eARC seems to have always had a conflict with the HDMI between the tv and soundbar, and so we gave up with it in the end and just put up with the TV sound. Now, the TV keeps switching itself off. Every bloody 5 minutes for an hour or so each night, every single night. It is INFURIATING! We have tried restarts, restarts updates, but no, it just dosn;t want to stay on. And it is not just the TV that does this, it is the same if you go to an HDMI input, so our Satellite box now constantly switches off and reverts back to the Amazon screen, and now the Sky puck does the same, none of the inputs will remain on once you switch the blasted thing on. It is as if the TV wants you to purely watch the FireTv and nothing else, but now even that is playing up. And of course, I am out of warranty as i have had the blasted thing for nearly 3 years now and the warranty is only for 2 years. You would expect for the price I paid, that I would get at least 5/6/7 years from it, but oh no! it is RUBBISH!!!!! I will never buy another TCL product again. When it did work, it wasn't that impressive either, the blacks were always faded grey and marbled, the sound was rubbish, (even when we managed to get some sound from the sound bar instead of the TV it was not that impressive)... so no, I do not like it at all, I do not rate it, I would not recommend it . Unless you are happy to fork out well earned money for a pile of junk that is only going to last you a couple of years. Now I am going to have to try and find a decent TV that dosn't match this tripe, and this time, we will be making darn sure we get a longer warranty with it as it seems nothing is built to last nowadays..

Brilliant for the price
This is exactly what i needed for my new office looks so good! Pros - Amazing picture quality - Really small bezel which gives it a modern look - Included tv legs are sleek and non invasive - Easy to mount to a wall bracket - Easy to set up and get going - Great picture quality out of the box - The user interface is nice and clean and easy to navigate - No need to buy a fire stick as it is intergrated - all ports on the back of the tv are facing towards the side of the tv so if you are mounting close to a wall this won't be an issue - Included remote is very nice, it is an adaptive fire stick remote with extra controls - Voice control on the remote makes it even easier to navigate and search things Cons - The audio although not bad does lack some depth but this may be more clear to myself as I usually watch media through wireless surround sound headphones (this won't be an issue if you are hooking up to a soundbar or headphones as also has audio optical port) - Although fire TV user interface is my preferred choice as it is nice and clean this may not suit everyone

Impressive.
I was worried when I made this purchase after reading some reviews. But with first impressions I am amazed with it. Crisp colourful picture and decent sound for TV speakers. I won't be using it for ariel viewing, but the apps work fine, and the 4 hdmi inputs work perfectly for new and old gaming systems. I had an issue with the remote and struggled to get the initial setup setup working as a result. But it was simply dead batteries supplied with the TV. New batteries are a must. However, although early days it's value for money.

Cheap & cheerful
Bought this to replace a 10yr old Samsung smart TV. Overall I am a little disappointed as picture quality did not wow me over the old Samsung and is not that much better despite it being a brand new 4K, HDR, QLED TV! That being said I bought the 50” at £350 (less than half the price I paid for 46” Samsung) to sit in a conservatory games room and be a spare TV for occasional use so can’t really grumble to much. Picture is sharp and colours are ok, response time for control and menus are acceptable and if you are used to fire TV’s from Amazon it is easy to setup and navigate. 2 feet can easily be attached via a couple of screw and they look nice. Lots of inputs and I’ve connected an Apple TV, PS4, Nintendo Switch and sky and was up and running within 15mins. Picture once you tinker with it is just “ok” but underwhelming for the blurb it tries to sell you, with HDR content failing to live up to its potential. Brights are not nearly bright enough, colours are not as vivid as they should be. Contrast is good but picture can get a bit washed out at times. If you are looking for a high end TV this is not for you, it’s cheap and cheerful with a “good” picture ready for a spare room.
