Fast Speeds, Works Amazing
Right after setting up the ethernet on my newly built PC and tweaking all the settings, my ASROCK motherboard's ethernet port went bad. I ordered this in place of that port (the wifi in my home is too slow as my computer is too far away) and it works fantastic! I'm actually getting faster speeds then when the ethernet cable was plugged into the motherboard.

Now compatible with MacOS Big Sur
UPDATE: As of 5/21 there is a driver available at asix.com.tw that is now compatible with MacOS Big Sur on both Intel and M1 macs. With this driver installed, the device functions perfectly. The chip at the heart of this dongle is the Asix AX88179. Up until the release of Big Sur, this was not a problem. But now Asix does not have a driver that works properly under Big Sur. They do have a driver you can download, but part of the installation calls for you booting into the recovery partition and DISABLING SYSTEM INTEGRITY PROTECTION. That is like buying a new car and using a crowbar to remove all of the seatbelts and airbags. It's a terrible, terrible thing to ask customers to do.What's particularly infuriating is that Asix had all summer to write new drivers under the new USB ethernet APIs that Apple released (specifically so that they could lock down ring 0 kernel extensions as a security improvement). To some extent I do feel their pain - Apple has a bad track record of moving the API cheese a lot. But even so, as I said, they had all summer long to come up with a proper solution and still, even with Big Sur having been out more than a month.Oh, and don't expect the driver they do have to work with the new Apple Silicon macs either.Hard pass.

Worked well
This adapter worked well and enabled me to double my internet speed by bypassing Wifi and using an internet cable to connect to my USB computer port

Works fine with my Mac laptop
Using it to connect an ethernet adapter and external drive to my Mac laptop that has only two USB-C ports. With one port used for the power cord, I needed this gizmo to attach more devices. Works perfectly.

Works as advertised
It's speedy and gets very close to 1gigabit/secNOTE TO NON-TECH FOLKS:The NAME of the product is sleazy and deceptive. The reason the product has GIGABIT in its name is that the product's fasted speed is 1.0 gigabits/sec. 1000 megabits/sec = 1.0 gigabits/sec.When Ethernet was first developed it achieved 10 megabits/second = 0.01 gigabits/secA few years later it was able to run at 100 megabits/second = 0.1 gigabits/sec.And today it can run at 1.0 gigabits/sec = 1000 megabits/sec.Higher speeds are experimental at this point in time. Therefore the 10/100/1000 in the product's name are in MEGAbits/sec, with its maximum speed being 1000 megabits/sec or 1.0 gigabits. So suppose you could call it a "Gigabit Adapter" because it's maximum speed is 1 gigabit/sec.-----

Works on my Toshiba Satellite L775-S7309
The network connection on my Toshiba laptop crapped out. Using the built-in WiFi, download speeds were around 35 Mbps, which is rather slow. I purchased this USB to Network adapter hoping to get more speed out of direct connection to my router. The Toshiba only has USB 2.0 ports, so I knew I would not get very high speeds, but I was pleasantly surprised to achieve downloads at about 93 Mbps. This was definitely worth $10.

Angesteckt, getestet und sehr gut
Preis-Leistungs-Sieger!
