Superb Grow Table Planter: Easy to Use
I love this planter so much that I've now got 2 of them. I bought my first one last year and had some absolutely fantastic crops of lettuce - my best ever. We moved the planter into part shade which is better for lettuce than full sun and stood the legs inside tins filled with water so no slugs or snails could climb up - result was beautiful lettuce with no annoying holes in. TIP 1) When you get your planter, I advise manually drilling some holes into the bottom of the main section so that water can easily drain away. For some odd reason, the only drainage holes are in the legs which is not adequate as you could still have water sitting below that level. So first thing is to make some drainage holes. TIP 2) Second thing is you can make the table much more sturdy by filling the legs up. We used a combo of small stones and polystyrene to pack out the legs - something that won't rot down. Adding some weight to the legs makes it very stable and gale proof. Ours stood up to storm Doris just fine. It helps if you get it roughly in place before filling the legs as it can be pretty heavy afterwards. TIP 3) Get some wide tins or plant pots with no drainage holes and stand the legs in them. Fill up the tins/pots with water and now you have just proofed your planter against slugs/snails which are unable to swim across water to climb up the legs. We had an amazing lettuce harvest this way and the lettuce looked pristine. Just make sure the planter is not touching a wall at any point - you don't want slugs crawling up a wall and sliding into your planter. Slugs (as I discovered previously) can climb a long way to munch on their favourite food. I know some people have had damaged ones arrive which is not great but hopefully Amazon themselves are taking notice as my second one was packed carefully in a box. When I ordered my 2nd one, I crossed my fingers and it turned up unscathed in a box. I would order this again even if I had one arrive damaged because I think they're such great value for the size. And (as long as I order direct from Amazon) I know there is no problem returning items. I'll be growing carrots in my new one this year. I'd eventually like a 3rd for some herbs once I've saved some more pennies up. Happy gardening :)

I will buy more soon... Better than expected!
I have been thrilled since I received my 1st elho table and lid order (which as we all know are sold separately) I love how it is and how well my lettuce mix is thriving in it. I was so happy I have now placed a new order, but I’m very sad that the lid has actually arrived damaged. Fingers crossed replacement arrives in one piece.m ;) Tips for new owners: (Bits that other customers have helped me with as well as things I have found out myself which I think might/could help others ;) 1. There is no need to open extra drainage holes as the drainage through the legs is sufficient. 2. For better soil drainage at the bottom of the planter as well as for greater stability and to avoid the drainage legs from getting clogged with soil; I recommend you fill the legs and some of the base (1”-2.5cm approx) with cheap small river stones. I bought 1 bag from Home_ _ _ e for £2.59 and one bag was sufficient. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a cheap option from Amazon so a trip to my local garden store was a must. I cleaned the pebbles thoroughly with water before and after placing them in the planter (let’s not forget they’re usually for building/diy purposes) 3. The planter takes 2 full 25l - so 50l of soil to be filled up to 2” from the rim. 4. I find that it’s ideal for lettuce and herbs. Could see cherry tomatoes and small pepper plants growing in it too, but although the planter is deep, I don’t see it suitable for larger plants as regular tomato plants. 5. I also recommend you buy some copper tape and place a double ring around all four legs (this avoids slugs from getting inside your planter) Also don’t put it by a wall as slugs could enter the planter through the side lid openings (unless you place a strip of tape there too) So... PROS Larger than expected/imagined Looks durable and well made Good height (my back really appreciates it) CONS Price - The fact that the planter and lid are sold separately (although it’s worth it) The fact that sometimes due to being plastic, the items are damaged in transit. Thanks for reading and my very best wishes to all of you.

Great little planter
It's a great little planter. Good quality all one piece no plantpack rubbish, fits quite a lot in I have used mine for salad growing got iceberg lettuce, red onion and rocket in 3 sections .. the only issue is you may have to drill a few drainage holes in the bottom as there are only 4 whole at each leg none in the middle

Sturdy, practical and very stylish!
Great size and height and holds a good amount of soil for it's relatively compact size. If you want to know more about the size then visit Elho's own website. Seems sturdy and well made with a slim metal bar supplied that slots into two small holes in the middle of the trough to stabilise it and stop it from distorting in the middle when it's full of soil. I filled the hollow legs with gravel to assist with drainage and to help stabilise the table. Each leg has a good sized hole in the bottom, which I think will be adequate for drainage. I love the bright lime green colour, it adds a bold splash of colour to my little garden. I have other Elho pots from this range, which I've been very happy with and they've remained colour-fast after being kept in the garden year round for over two years.
