DAVID BOWIE 'LEGACY' released on November 11 collects together some Bowie’s finest singles from his first hit, 1969’s ‘Space Oddity’ through to the final singles ‘Lazarus’ and ‘I Can’t Give Everything Away’ from earlier this year. All formats of DAVID BOWIE 'LEGACY' feature a previously unreleased version of the classic 1971 single ‘Life On Mars?’ mixed by its original producer Ken Scott. In over fifty years from his very first recordings right through to his last album Blackstar, David Bowie was at the vanguard of contemporary culture as a musician, artist, icon and a constant influence on generations of writers, artists and designers. He was, and remains to be, a unique presence in contemporary culture. David Bowie left a legacy of inspiration in every discipline from art to fashion to acting and beyond but it is for the groundbreaking music that he will mostly be remembered. DAVID BOWIE LEGACY is an introduction to a whole world of music that is just waiting to be rediscovered by a whole new generation.

Masterpiece Album
I’m an old Bowie fan, recently reverted back to old school vinyl but like most people had recycled (donated to local Hospital radio) my vast collection. This Album had a good number of David’s classic hits, took me back in time. Great product, supplier and price would recommend to anyone, this supplier is a “Star Man” 👍

Everything you need especially as a starte collection.
Loved this, like every track and it all took me back. if you haven't really got into Bowie and want to hit the most well known songs in one hit, this is a great collection/ double album. I liked the presentation and art style too but that's a matter of preference isn't it. Can't go far wrong with this.

Everything You'd Want
I wanted a Bowie compilation to compliment my record collection and this was absolutely perfect. Other reviews on Amazon had emphasised the quality of the production and they were spot on, as the sound quality is outstanding. The songs you already know about!

Bowies popular hits all in one place.
The 5 stars are for the music and not for the pressing quality. I know there are audiophile pressings now available. I don't expect to see the tonearm swaying from side to side because the grooves are in the wrong place. Also, surface noise is quite high but it isn't terrible. The records are quite crackly and the first minute or so of Space Oddity is spoiled by loud pops and crackles and the stylus actually jumps the groove unless resorting to a spherical stylus with 3 grams downforce. In fact side two is rather badly pressed compared to the other 3. The records aren't thin and wobbly like records were in the 70s and 80s but what is the point of thick 180g pressings if the surface isn't up to standard? The gatefold sleeve has nothing interesting to read. Much of the content has been re-mastered which to any serious listener or enthusiast of real hifi is not to be welcomed. However in general when listening through the crackles and pops the sound quality is fair to good, depending on the track. This purchase wasn't particularly expensive so there isn't a value issue here. The music is 5 star, the pressing standard is no more than 3 star.
