Fifty for flute: Book 1 Grades 1-5: Fifty progressive studies for unaccompanied flute

The title of FIFTY For Flute indicated to me that the book would contain FIFTY pieces of music. Imagine my surprise when on opening this publication I discovered it contained only thirty!, (fairly uninspiring studies). The other twenty being separately available in Book II!!Given the fact that this book is published by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), I am quite amazed that this has escaped attention.

Just in case someone else expects fifty pieces in this book there are only 30. The other 20 I assume are in Fifty for Flute book 2 grades 6-8. Not a problem as it was what my child's flute teacher asked for, but not made clear in the item description.

Really good mix of styles and techniques, which help develope different skills as well as maintaining interest. Carefully graded so each new piece is a little more difficult. I read reviews here first so not surprised this is only volume 1 of 2

Book was recommended by my music teacher,only just started using it but it seems excellent,pieces are fairly short and each one introduces something different. I'm an older student so exams are not my aim but I would think this book would suit children studying for their grades very well.

Its lovely to have different pieces to practice. Ive just taken the flute up this year and its my 50th birthday. That's the sorry attatchment I had to the title but its is definitely worth it...

Just started learning the flute and the pieces at the beginning of the book provide more opportunities to practise simple pieces.

Very good for grade 1-5 practice. A good choice of music pieces

School lesson book requested by teacher. Grand daughter seems happy with it.
