Smart, Fun, and Great Looking board and Cards
I really enjoy the Pandemic System of Games. Currently, own Pandemic, Fall of Rome, and now this game. The board and cards are classy looking and the cards are of good quality. The game has a lot of simalarities to Pandemic regarding the game setup, mechanics, and theme. Unlinke Pandemic, this game is set in the 1800s so there are not direct flights to cities and no disease cures. Also, the game play is different. You have the concepts of moving between port cities (like Fall of Rome) and the addition of adding train tracks to improve moving about the board (as well as walking). This is a well designed game both in play and theme. I would recommend. (personally, I prefer this game and Pandemic to the Fall of Rome game. Just think the game play is better)** the containers for the game pieces are not part of the pkg. they were purchased separately

Next step past Pandemic
Our favorite family board game has been Pandemic for years. We probably own 40 board games and always return to Pandemic. Iberia is the next step harder. If your group almost never loses a Pandemic game, try this one for a challenging change of pace. It goes back in time, which is fun and travel is initally much more difficult until you learn how to move around the board. The roles have a much better balance of power than Pandemic. I love that, while you do have to learn how to use some new skills, and you don't have some of the same tools, the basic game is the same so you can build on the knowledge you have already gained from how to play Pandemic. Can't recommend this one highly enough if you are a Pandemic fan.

Such a great game!
The best in the Pandemic series for visual appeal and outstanding gameplay. A definite keeper in the board game collection. Fun for solo gameplay and in a group. Not too challenging and not too long to play. hits the best of both. highly recommend.

Not sure what the hype is...
We love Pandemic and Pandemic On The Brink, so we had been excited to play Iberia for a few years now, as it was out of stock. When we finally received it, we were less than impressed with the wood pieces. People mention how gorgeous the bored is, but it seems of lower quality than the other Pandemic games we own. In terms of game mechanics, it is mostly the same game, but you do not cure diseases, the travel is slightly different, and there is a water element. Otherwise, this game did not bring much more excitement than the other Pandemic versions. We had extremely high hopes for this one because of all the glowing reviews, but perhaps Iberia was hyped up too much for us.
