Belfry Swing Arm Floor Lamp, Antique Brass finish supplied complete with Parchment shade

Compared with the price of a lot of the retro lamps listed I was expecting something a little more cheaply made. It’s not. Good sturdy tubes and all you do is screw it together. No faffing in threading the cable through. The instructions supplied for the placing of the shade are incorrect but it’s simple enough to figure out without them. Looks stunning in my living room. Long cable and it is a screw lightbulb fitting. Dead chuffed with this bargain

Very good finish, and easy to assemble – just ensure the threads are correctly lined up before tightening the pole parts, and remember to pull the cord through the base as you go. Note: this takes screw-in (ES27) bulbs, not bayonet-type. The shade is better quality than I expected, and the packaging is secure. Good value at £52.44 Prime.

I am very pleased with the lamp. For just shy of £60.00 it looks good, was easy to put together, and seems sturdy. The right size for a corner in a small room too. The only thing that I didn't like was the decorative ring (attached to the shade fixing nut) which stuck up over the lamp shade. I removed it with my trusty junior hacksaw. I am much happier now that the nut fixing is flush with the top of the shade.

This is a really lovely, well made, sturdy, traditional and decorative lamp. The bronze is mottled so is not in your face, the base is made from a lovely thick metal that means it stands well. I like the arm movement as I can move it when I want more light to read. The shade is maybe a touch small for my taste but is pleasing on the eye and again well made. Overall I am delighted with my new lamp.

I like this lamp. It throws out a good amount of light and the little arm makes it easy to position where you need the light to go. Having the little foot pedal makes it easy to put on and off. The only thing is found it was 2 person job to put it together

Good lamp, shame about the shade. The lamp is let down by bland, featureless shade. A coloured bulb helps but still not as good as our previous lamp, which has served us well for years.

This lamp is a bargain for the price. Looks more expensive than it cost. It does not come with a bulb, I put a vintage bulb in. Very easy to assemble and sturdy. I love that its foot is operated by a button on the cord. Perfect for my space.

First surprise is that this item arrives beautifully packed in a cardboard box 16 inches square, which leaves you wondering what can possibly be inside. It's very easy to assemble, in fact it's quite good fun assembling it. The lamp looks quite "classy" when completed. If you know where to look you can (just) see the joins between the three segments but to all intents and purposes they're invisible. I'm guessing the "swing arm" will prove to be of little practical use, but it looks good. Nice lamp; In retrospect I should probably have gone for a straightforward floor lamp without the "swing arm" thingy, (which would no doubt have been considerably cheaper), but oh well. Note for DIY enthusiasts- There's an unusual warning on the cable that says it's impossible to re-wire this lamp at any time in future, which I can well believe, as it's by no means clear how exactly the mains cable passes through the "swing arm" component. Quote; "If the Cord is damaged, the Luminaire shall be destroyed"....So if at any time in future you need to replace ( for instance) a cracked lampholder, it's impossible. The upper part of this lamp seems to have been assembled in a way which would preclude ever rewiring it, or even replacing the lamp holder.
