60cm Acrylic Rule/Ruler with Steel Cutting Edge - Jakar

This has transformed my ability to cut accurately. Great for spacing because of the marks on the length of the ruler. I use thin knives and scalpels and it works great with them.

Ok, so how can you review a ruler. Well, the writing is large and clear, it seems very well made (very straight and true), it comes in a protective sleeve (and came well packaged) and it does the job I need it to do! I used to have a ruler like this 20 years ago when I sued to work at an advertising agency and used this with a scalper to cut out typesetting, art boards and the like to help the artwork team. I now print my own photographs and thought back to this period and decided to go back in time rather than buy a rotary trimmer or guillotine to give more flexibility (and to take up less space) so have just bought a cutting mat and scalpel and this ruler is perfect with its steel cutting edge. The blade runs along it, and not up the ruler into my fingers (seen that sooo many times those twenty odd years ago!)

Product is exactly as I expected as it was a replacement for a much older and very battered one - the delivery was WAY quicker than expected and the packaging of a tricky shape was amazing. Fantastic *****

Well this arrived, and truly it's the godzilla of rulers, albeit one who's interest in trampling cities to dust has been replaced by a curious need to aid the measuring of assorted objects. This is a solid measuring tool, really well made. It has some weight to it, so it lies flat. It's wider than I was expecting, but that's not a bad thing. I think 60cm is the ideal length - long enough for most tasks, but not quite as unwieldy as the 100cm one. The numbers are large, and having them even larger every 5cm helps. The mm markings and the grid are printed exceptionally clearly and are easy to distinguish (it's surprising how many rulers fail at this bit) and as transparency goes, it's very transparent - no hint of a tint. No doubt you already know that the cutting edge means you can protect the measuring edge. This is one of those rulers where the mm markings start at the very edge, making it easier for some measuring tasks. It has a hanging hole at one end, and comes in a case. I was a little concerned at one reviewer saying it was a mm out, but I've measured it with a tape measure and it's spot on in accuracy (unless my tape measure is also out...). This does pretty much everything you'd want a ruler to do.

It’s kind of weird to praise the ruler but it is exactly what I needed. 60 cm with a grid so you can draw parallel lines and check angles when drawing from a reference photo and it’s long enough to work on a large format paper.

It might seem hard to be enthusiastic about a ruler, but this is a great ruler!Well made and packaged, it's plus points are:- Parallel lines / grid to help get the ruler parallel / perpendicular.- Steel cutting surface for guiding the craft knife. No more cutting into the ruler./forgot to mention: The measurements start at the very edge of the ruler so it's easy to measure distances between objects. Sometimes rulers has a gap before the scale starts. Not this one.

Purchased as a stocking filler for my daughter’s boyfriend for use for Uni projects so not given to him as yet but must say it’s quite impressive, sturdy and worth the money. Delivery quick and packed well.

I feel lucky to have found this ruler, it's fantastic.
