This is a great piece of kit at a great price from Amazon. It looks and feels solid and is easy to hold as it has a rubberised feel to it, unlike many of the other shiny cased hard drives which easily slip out of the hand. It works as well as it looks and the 1 TB storage is more than adequate for my purposes. I'm more than happy with my purchase and would buy another without hesitation. Highly recommended.

I eventually decided on this unit. Its rubberised and provides good grip and grip on any clean surface. The USB3 on my USB3.0 equipped laptop worked very well compared over USB2.0 I copied over films and even Topfield and Humax recordings and found them playable on my LG and Samsung TV's (once I renamed the Topfield .rec file to .ts, the Humax were already .ts). The USB3 read speed avarages out at 86MB/s using HDTach3.1 (48MB/s-112MB/s) I've not dropped it yet. The backup/reconnect button works to reconnect well. I've not used any of the supplied software yet. Its blue indicator is the same colour regardless USB2.0 or USB3.0 connection. I had read the colour was different when working in USB2.0 vs. USB3.0, well this is wrong or not anymore, shame but no biggie. Connecting cable is USB3 Type-A one end to USB3 Micro-B connecting to the drive. Pretty standard. I didn't find loose fitting. I have tried connecting this to the Humax HDR Fox T2 and mostly without problem. Recommended.

I love your external but the USB connection lead has stopped....working. Using my wife's lead now and she's mad as a lorry about it, I fear she may use the shock-features to my disadvantage. Honestly. I can see her looking at me now. She's pretending to eat soup, although I guess she chose the soup tonight in order to use the soup spoon to check out if I was abusing her cable. The spoon is concave. She can be like that.

Excellent disk for travelling. Very well protected for knocks and bumps. Initial problem I had was that I copied files from my Windows laptop and then tried to read them with my Mac laptop. The Mac didnt recognize the disk. The disk was formatted exFat with my Windows machine (a format both for Win and Mac to r/w). The solution was to reformat it in exFat BUT in the Mac machine. This fixed the problem and both machines can read and write in the disk. Another issue I had was when I tried to connect the disk to a Samsung Tab S2 tablet. The disk wouldnt start. This is because the USB in the tablet has no enough power to turn on the disk. The solution was to plug the disk with an external cable to the USB in the wall. Delighted with it and cant wait to bring it backpacking in my next trip.

Great build quality with good speeds and super price. I hope it will last long.

Working well for a few months then for some reason it stopped working on one of the USB ports on the laptop even though it was working fine on this same port previously. Windows just doesn't see it when plugged in. Now can only use it on another USB port on the same laptop and the speed is somewhat slower than it was originally. Don't know if this is the fault of Windows or this drive. But hoping it won't stop working altogether. Also, it doesn't seem to be backward compatible with my other older laptop as in this older laptop which is USB 2 it can't see this drive at all so I am unable to transfer data between my 2 laptops which was the reason for buying this drive in the first place so am disappointed in this respect hence the 4*

No problems with this, it seems rugged and well made. The supplied back up software (on the drive) works well both in full backup and sync on the go mode. The cable connection to the unit is not of a type that i have seen before, USB on one end something odd on the other. So if lost a replacement might be tricky to find but apart from that.........

Comparing the opposition this package oozes quality and confidence it will continue to work after a bounce... unlike Western digital passport of which I have had 2 and both packed in after relatively little use, but had travelled a lot in my back pack, even tho they were never dropped.

I will tell you right off from the beginning that I bought this product for a friend, so I can only tell you the very little I know about it. It appears to be a solid product as it has a rubber coating all over it and usually, when you buy a protective case for your smart phone for example, the good ones are made of rubber. I am not rough with my electronic equipment nore am I negligent with them either, so I don't need such robust protection for my drives, I prefer a more elegant looking unit, it does not have to be so tough looking. That being said, I personally would not get one of these as my first option, unless I require a drive that I know will be subjected to over average rough handling or abuse. My friend loves these drives, likes their protective coating and as he says, "if it survives my hands or rough handling, it's a solid harddrive." So there you have it, a review from the word of two people in one. One last comment, there are no complaints about under average data transfers or problems of that kind. So I think it is a good buy if you are thinking of purchasing this drive.

I purchased this hard drive so I can get my information to and from work. I am walking about storing all sorts of documents, pictures and worksheets. I will say I am super impressed with this hard drive. Not only does it look and feel great, but it works great. It is really fast to upload my documents and very easy to sort and organize all of the files. Opening the documents on both PC and Mac has been really simple. I am loving this hardrive. I have had a really easy time transporting my work. I love how I can be effeciant with such a simple device. I can start working one computer and finish up on the next. The best part, this can hold 1 TB of information and is drop proof. Great for teachers.

Positief - makkelijk mee te nemen en op een andere computer met usb 3 aan te sluiten - makkelijk met 1 usb kabel aan te sluiten (vergeleken met de oude 320GB met 2 kabels) - meteen bestanden vanuit Windows 10 opslaan Negatief Er staat 1 TB(Tera Byte = 1000 GB = 1000.000 MB) dus niet Tera bit. Dan verwacht ik ook 1 TB. Transcend bestanden van +200 MB, blijft er 931 GB over. Bijna 70 GB aan opslag minder dan voorgesteld.
