Purchased this to replace a cheap brush that was loosing it's metal prongs and so far we have had no problems with the pins on the GoPets brush.Not sure the gel filled handle is really necessary, i think a soft rubber handle would surface for most dog owners, only if you were using this brush for long periods at a time may the gel handle prove to be more comfortable. The real problem with this brush is that it's not that effective on our Airedale Terrier, the bristles on the brush side are to soft and you have to repeatadly go over the same area to remove the old coat and the pin side removes almost no hair, compared to the cheap brush which had firmer bristles and more effective pins this brush is not as good by some margin. The GoPets brush does appear to be well made, comes with a good guarantee and may work better on dogs that have a finer coat, but would not recommend for Airedale owners.

I got this brush hoping that our Cockapoo would tolerate it. After an unhappy first experience at the groomers as a puppy, having previously been fine being brushed, she became totally brush phobic. We've tried many types over the years with not much luck but she seems reasonably happy with this one - hooray! It's good to start with the bristle side on her tummy which seems to be particularly enjoyable so that gets her in the right frame of mind for the other side of the brush which deals with the proper brushing.The pin side wouldn't be as effective as a slicker brush (our pooch hates them still but maybe one day) at getting through lugs but used daily it's certainly keeping her coat tidy - we do keep her coat reasonably short for a Cockapoo though.Other reviews talk about the gel handle; it wasn't a selling point for me, it's unnecessary but it doesn't bother me either way!

Cannot fault the build quality and feel of the brush., hence the four stars, but truth told I don't use it. I have a long haired type dog (Rough collie) and the pins are too close together, they snag his fur. Buy with confidence if you have a short/med coated dog. Avoid if you have a long haired breed.

I have adopted a retired hearing dog. He is a Lhasa Apso and has long hair on his head, ears and tail. The spiky side of the brush is ideal for detangling and cleaning out dried mud. The softer bristle side is lovely for his tummy and legs, maybe his moustache if he lets me. Yes, I am very pleased with this brush. The handle is soft making grooming more comfortable.

Arrived really quickly, my cats loved the brush even though they r nearly a year old & not used to being brushed regularly. Soft brush side good for any hair length & harder side good for long hair, my cats purr when being brushed with it, def recommend

Bought this for our Cavapoo puppy. One side is totally useless and the other side is ok but does the same as a kids tangle teezer. Don't think I needed this brush really - a slicker brush is better for our Cavapoo. Having said that it's a well made brush with comfy handle.

Very gentle but also very effective in removing that itchy loose hair. The cat now sits and waits to be brushed!Arrived promptly and adequately packaged. Would definitely recommend this item.

This is a great brush, high quality build. The handle has some kind of gel or silicon padding making it extra comfortable (if a little jarring at first) and it seems to be resistant to dog chewing so it was great for my 6 month old pomeranian who's learned to love getting brushed.
