Fantastic value and quality from Behringer
I decided to upgrade my speakers to some entry level audio monitors as I do a lot of editing and film work. I also wanted some decent speakers for general listening too. As I have a number of inputs such as Desktop, Laptop, PS3 and occasionally others, I thought i'd get a Mixer as it would be handy for handling multiple inputs, adjusting the sound and it would look really cool on my desk! This works great for me and was great for under £100, I considered a number of cheaper and smaller ones but this has a whole lot more channels and features than the lower end ones for not much more money.I would have liked it to have had another stereo channel or two but that's no problem as I use 3 & 4 together for my Desktop and still have 2 channels to plug in Microphones for recording. You can also use the FX and Aux Returns as extra stereo channels if you don't need them for anything else.Great audio quality from this and the build quality is decent, the USB interface can be used to record your Main Mix or as a Sound input into the 2 Track. I use it all the time to record voiceovers and other bits and it works great with Adobe Audition and Audacity.Great features and quality for the price! Has worked brilliantly for my home edit suite setup.I would recommend to people who are looking for a basic mixer for home setups, small live events/functions. Musicians maybe wanting to record vocals and instruments with XLR mics. You aren't able to record channels separately over USB as it all goes through the main mix so you won't have individual control over your levels in post unless you record them separately but it's great if you want to record music, voiceovers etc...

Excellent small mixer
Great features, low noise floor, nice usable EQ.Single knob compressors on mono channels don’t appear to do much, other than let you eke out a bit more gain without clipping the signal.Solid build - I’ve got Behringer gear that’s 20+ years old and never an issue. Expecting this to last another 20 years too.

Be warned, this almost perfect small format usb mixer is only capable of 16bit, 44/48kHz.
I love this mixer! I think it is perfect in every way except one - it's 16bit only!I am so disappointed this this wasn't clearly stated in the specs as everything else about it is spot on.Behringer have done a fantastic job designing this but really need to update the DSP. If all budget computer motherboards are 24bit capable these days then this, as a professional recording device, should be too.If you only need 16bit for your recordings then it is a great small format mixer.Right now I'm debating the extra cost of the UFX1204 as quite honestly there is nothing else on the market that comes close to this little baby's price/performance and it is the only one in Behringers' range that has it's 24bit specs clearly stated. It's going to be hard to send this back.

Great mixer for the price
I use this for a podcast and it got everythign I need plus more. I'm not a technical individual in the audio world but I found this easy to use for recording with a laptop and controlling sound levels. I have guests on my podcast and it has inputs for four XLR mics and phantom power for my condensor mics, it also has other inputs if required but probably something for more technical people. Its not very big but taking up only a bit of space on the table and it appears reasonably well built, still working after being accidently dropped twice. It's probably more than I needed for what I'm doing but now I've got it I'm glad I bought it, particularly for the price.

Er, FX?
This is a nice handy little mixer, sturdy, I bought it because it has comp for vocals but when I set it up, look this could be MY fault but, WHERE ARE THE FX?? It's got all the sends and returns, individual FX channel knobs but despite instructions how to select FX in the manual there is no FX select button on this mixer and no digital display. What's ridiculous about this is that this is probably the fourth digital mixer I've owned in the past ten years and every single one had inbuilt FX. Massively disappointing. Now I'm going to have to get an FX unit to plug into it. I'd have rather paid more if I'd realised tbh. I mean, you're putting compression on it but no FX? Who on earth would even want that?

Well-built, easy to use, great sound.
We recently purchased this to serve as the main mixer for our internet radio show & podcast. We have 3 regular hosts + 1 guest in each segment, so the 4 XLR mic inputs are perfect for our needs.Using the stereo inputs and various aux outputs, we also play music from a PC and have mix-minus setup to take phone and skype calls via a smartphone. All of this then goes via the USB port to our streaming/recording PC (the same one that's playing our music). On top of all that, we have the headphone output connected to a small Behringer HA400 headphone amp so that all 4 of us get to hear the main mix.We use dynamic mics, but the desk does provide Phantom Power if you want to use condenser mics. The only thing that this mixer is missing, in my opinion, is a dedicated PFL (pre fader listen) button for checking input gain on the VU before setting the slider volume (I think the next model up the spec chain has this), but there is a MUTE/alternative output button on each channel, so it's really not bad for such a low price piece of kit.Overall, we're delighted with it and it has worked perfectly since we got it.

poor sound output
connected to keyboard .and main speakers and control room . Keyboard needed maximum on volume control to be heard , control room outputs did not work . Ok if using headphones but not for live play sliders at max and still weak output in DBs . Returned for replacement

Bargain Behringer
Delivered on time working within minutes good range of EQ. The mixer is ideal for a small band, disco or podcast the microphone amps are very quiet with adequate gain. Phantom power works fine and saves the cost of a PSU. Compression is very useful as is the USB interface very easy to set up a recording session. I have worked with many types of expensive PA equipment and all I can say is that this cheap Behringer kit is great, don't be a snob save a few bob!
