SMCO OLYMPIA BLACK RED TYPEWRITER RIBBON TWINSPOOL WILL FIT MOST OLD TYPEWRITERS

Great product and price. I upcycled an old typewriter but the ink ribbon was completely dried up. Bought this and is still going! I use the typewriter all the time and the ink is still good/clear on the page. Easy to fit.

Grrat quality fitted as aspectes

I have to say right off that the ribbon is producing good quality images in my old printing mechanical calculator and the price point is good ish. I knew the spools would not fit and that I would need to transfer the ribbon to my old spools. This meant that I got to see the whole reel, which brings me to the first negative. At one end of the reel there was a noticeable bleed between the red and black colours. Also, since the spools on a calculator are much smaller than a typical typewriter I was expecting to have enough for two machines. However, all the ribbon fitted on my old spools, with the spools that came with it being nowhere near full. But it is working well, I expect it to last quite a while and I am happy with it.

They fit well . They are just what I wanted.

It's great to be able to buy ribbons for old typewriters at all and this is probably as good as you'll find. Paying more or choosing a different seller probably won't make much difference. But treat claims like '100% compatible' and 'will fit most old typewriters' with caution. Usually, you'll need to wind the ribbon onto your old spools. Half marks too for the fact that you get only half a spool of ribbon. The illustration does show what to expect, but because each turn reels in more as the diameter increases, the ribbon is roughly half the length of my original. 'Roughly' because it's also much thinner material, which has implications for drying out and uneven inking. I've bought more than a dozen SMCO ribbons and their quality has varied, but variable, short, thin or not they are a better option than any of the re-inking ideas you'll find on-line. Unless you are going to use the red, a plain black ribbon may be best as that avoids the chance of some 'bleed'.

Good value for money, but too big for my typewriter, my fault as did not check the size.

Bei dem SM-Band handelt es sich -entgegen der Darstellung- nicht um ein Original "Pelikan-" oder "Olympia"-Band, auch wenn es in eine "Olympia" (=Standardgröße) passt. Der Farbabdruck ist etwas blass und unscharf, was nicht an der Schreibmaschine liegen kann, weil sie erst technisch überholt wurde. Rowa

Un peu sec sur le départ, mais le problème est réglé au bout de quelques mots. S'adapte très bien sur ma machine (Japy modèle reporter).

Je suis plutôt satisfaite de mon achat, il y a eu un peu de retard au niveau de la livraison, et pas de numéro de suivi disponible avec ce vendeur, mais les rubans ont l’air neuf et c’est exactement la taille pour mon olympia !
