Amazing, durable, quality construction and feel. Very robust. The straight cut allows me to cut steel wire ties. Currently I work in construction and we have to put materials between the rebar, so cutting ties and barring the steels away is now an easy feat. I'm cutting these ties with the nose of the snips, literally just about get 1-2mm between the jaws and it cuts the steel wire! As a sparky I also use these for cutting and terminating kopex. Again these are a breeze and go straight through. My previous snips were Wiss, they lasted 3+ years. I still have them as a back up pair. Durability is the name. These will never let you down.

Still as good as when I used to have a pair 20 years ago. Tried other cheaper brands till decided it's best to stick with what you know. Well worth spending the extra.

As a newbie to the world of enamelling I was looking for snips that I could use on copper sheet as well as stainless wire mesh. Having read various reviews, it became obvious that Wiss was a brand to trust.Not quite sure what cuts straight, left and right means but at this time all I was looking for was straight cut as I will refine shapes with a jewellers saw and files.These cut through 1.5m. steel wire easily, plus lighter gauge equally well. I have had problems with other heavy gauge being a little harsh on lesser wires. The cut through copper sheet - I have tried 1mm so far - but it was like a hot knife through butter. I am fairly sure that should I require to cut through heavier gauge these will work.Overall - very impressed, I will not be a heavy duty user, but these now reside in my workshop toolkit and I am sure I will get a good amount of use from these. In time, I may also look at left and right offset cutters, if I do Wiss will be my first port of call. I hope this is useful to people.

Having purchased the Wiss snips upon a hearty recommendation from Marc Moore, I was pumped up and anxious to receive them. Even with next day delivery it seemed a life time away and that missing piece of my heart from lost in the ether. Without warning a kind hearted soul popped the package in my designated box. I fumbled entering the code and on sight tore the package to piece. My snips, my snips where have you been? I'm hear to drywall they replied. Wheels spinning out of the car park, straight to site and down to work. They have never left my side, unless I misplace them and accuse others of theft

Have tried other makes,but find these the best around.

They were advertised as not marking the metals to be cut. There are serrations in the jaws which hold the materials to be cut.I am cutting one millimetre aluminium and are getting slight marking on the material. It’s not a big and they are top notch quality.Going to try doing two cuts and maybe a final cut of 10 mm. Still recommend them compared to some of the other dubious gear out there.

This tool keeps its edge surprisingly well, has an ergonomic handle, and the finish on the individual pieces of the tool is phenomenal. I only returned this tool because it wasn't able to perform a very specific job with ease regularly (though, it was able to do the job, just not with any ease), and I had no use for it otherwise. It is still American made, even though the brand is basically owned by private equity at the time of this review.

I needed a new pair. The old one had lived a hard life before me and despise cleaning and more, it was timeThese felt solid in the hand. No wobble. Parts moved smoothly, no drag, no catching. They cut well. I was cutting aluminum soda cans for craft. Through the thick top and bead, not a problem. Through the body of the can, smooth cutting.These are straight cut, not right or left. They cut straight and clean. I was able to follow the straight lines I drew on the can to make curled frilly chair pincushions, quite closely spaced.The hook to hold them shut for easier storage works nicely as well. My hands and grip are not the best, but these were easy enough to work with. I have used them quite a bit and they are holding up well.Also, sheet metal is sharp, wear leather gloves when using these and safety glasses. If you get any part of a finger in these while cutting, they can into skin or cut some off. So take care.I try to buy quality well made tools for my money, These seem to qualify. Hope to continue to use for a long time to come.
