The media could not be loaded. Barbell pads suit a variety of users including those with traps be it for squatting, hip thrusts, lunges, donkey calf raises on smith machines etc to name just a few. Given the wide range of people I train with pads come in handy at all stages of the workout program and certainly help when it comes to cushioning certain delicate areas of the body.I have had quite a few barbell pads over time many great and many not so. The biggest problems with some pads is that some aren't secure enough when fitted to a bar as they have no securing feature such as a flap of material that is held in place to stop it from falling off when performing the exercise. Another couple of issues that I have come across with some pads is that they either don't fit properly on to Olympic bars or if they do some will rotate due to having a too large a hole in the middle. I refer my pads to be fixed in place thereby giving an overall secure feeling which in effect other than the padded feeling you wouldn't really think that a pad was in place. Thankfully the pad from Beast Gear meets my minimum requirements in terms of fitment fine.The construction of the pad seems to be good with no apparent weaknesses especially the areas where the material is stitched at the ends and along the velcro fastening. Unlike similar designed pads there are not raised logos or badges to cause and uneven uncomfortable feeling when in use which through certain clothing is most noticeable. The material itself is of a good weave where unlike the vinyl coated types doesn't cause any slipping when positioned on the back, anyone who has tried the vinyl coated pads will know what I am relating to.The loop at the end of the pad helps wrap the securing flap tight which again if anyone has tried to do without such a feature will know how much of a fight it is given the small amount of fabric that can be gripped.Initially taking the pad out of the packaging the foam does has a slight odour which is common with many foam products that are sealed in their wrappers post production but give it time to air and it will be dissipate.In terms of comfort and effectiveness the pad works well in not only adding a little cushioning which comes in handy on big lifts but also doesn't feel over sized when performing some exercises such as barbell hip thrusts.For the money its a well made product that serves well.

Bought this padding to assist me with doing hip thrusts and it’s been fantastic ever since.The padding is very stable when attached to the bar and doesn’t slip easily. What I’ve noticed with this product over others is the distribution of pressure is exert in such a way that, if you’re lifting substantial weight, you don’t really feel it. Which helps a lot with keeping you engaged and wanted to go heavier.My partner has also subbed out her own pad for mine, which shows in itself how good this product is.

Fits perfect on the barbell, comfy to use whilst performing certain exercises and easy place on and off at a moments notice

Simple to use and works well, plenty of padding but make sure the Velcro is tight it can slip otherwise

I do like Beast Gear products and I have bought a few differnt products from them over the years. This was like all the rest, that I have recieved, is of good quality, reasonably priced and it does the job. I have lopped off 2 stars however because the Amazon advert has followed the trend of, lets say the cheaper end of the china-sourced fitness products by 'enhancing' the photos to make the product look bigger than it actually is. (or they have found some really tiny people to include in their photos)To sum up it does the job, it is a reasonable price and I am pleased to support Beast Gear once again. I just feel that they have let themselves down by dishonest, and unneccessary, photshopping of the item itself.

I received my Beast Barbell pad Saturday last week. The service was very efficient. I saw the product on line on Friday, ordered it Friday afternoon, 24 hours later I had it. In terms of comfort and effectiveness the pad works well. Some pads aren't secure enough when fitted to a bar, the hole is sometimes too big and the pad rotates. This pad has a very snug fit and a good Velcro flap all along its length.The construction of the pad is very good with strong material and good stitching. The material itself is much better than the vinyl coated ones, which can be slippery.I believe that the pad is well made and good value for money. I would have no hesitation in recommending it.On another point, the after sales service is very good. Ben, the owner of Beast Gear contacted me to make sure that I got the product and that I was happy with it. You don’t often get to deal with someone who care that much. Thanks Ben. I have since been onto your web site and bought sliders and a skipping rope. I am looking forward to getting those in my gym.

I really loved the pad, it was so comfortable. Was using it to do my hip thrusts as the bar started digging into my bones as the weight got heavy. I totally recommend for, quality for price too! Sadly mine was lost at the gym so will be buying one again next pay day!
