ARKO shave soap
Lathers up really well, with a soft pleasing foam, fresh smell and moisturising effect.Blades glide easily, this soap provides adequate lubrication to allow a smooth close shaving result. Its been around for years, so that has to be testament to the quality and popularity.

Ideal for airline travel
I bought this for it's size, compatible with what is allowed on airline travel. It comes in a sealable tub, so doesn't make a mess. Produces a good lather with a decent shaving brush and gives a nice smooth shave. Curious scent, not unpleasant, maybe think old fashioned barber shop. Its so inexpensive that you could bin it after use and it would still be good value.

Good all-round shaving soap
I have built up a fairly extensive collection of shaving soaps (not creams) in the past couple of months so feel I'm in a good place to offer a comparison to other products. The Arko soap is compact, fresh-smelling and inexpensive. The scent is absolutely like the men's urinal blocks as somone else on here commented; you can't unsmell that once you realise. But this is no barrier, it's a good shave with a nice lather from the brush. The puck size at 90g is smaller than others you can get for equivalent prices (e.g. Proraso's 150g bowls) but at a fiver-odd it's a worthwhile addition to your collection. And the traditional image and font on the bowl's lid makes for a nice visual on the shelf too.

Best shaving soap I've ever used
A while back I got fed up with razor burn and ingrown hairs so I decide to ditch the gimmicky Gillette razors and geld and go old school with a well made safety razor and soap and a brush. Best decision I ever made. Not only do a save a fortune on crappy disposables, but I get the best shave and no dreaded rash. This soap is key to my shave routine. Creates a good smooth bubble lather (with a brush) and doesn't dry my face out. It also lasts ages.

Doesn't claim to make you anything special, just helps with a decent shave.
Quality shaving soap without an obnoxious perfume.

Lasts Forever - Great on the Face
A victim of pomp and marketing, I would typically purchase more expensive shaving soaps to fit in my silver shaving bowl.Somewhere, I had read about Arko and figured I'd give it a try. Why not? It is about 7 quid, 1/3 the price of some of the other ones I would try.I am a lawyer and when I grow facial hair, there's an unpleasant fortnight that I look like my clients. After the fortnight, I look like a pirate. As such, I try to keep my face whisker free.I shave 4-5 times a week, giving my face a very good lather with soap. I don't alternate soaps, I use one until it's expired. There was a brief 4 week holiday that I used shaving cream, because I was overseas and didn't bring my safety razor etc. That said, apart from a 4 week hiatus, I have used this product 4-5 times a week since July 2014. It is now March 2016 and I'm not even 2/3 done with this shaving soap, which came with its own bowl. This is lasting forever. I like it. Good value, I like the smell and it gives one of the best lathers I have ever had.The lather is incredible lads, it's thick and well lubricated. It doesn't take too much of a swish with your brush. This truly does outperform or, at minimal, equal the much more expensive soaps that I have tried. I won't be deviating from Arko now.

I love this cream
I wanted to reduce the amount of plastic waste I create, plus, cartridge razor blades have become crazy expensive.I'm not actually new to safety razor (or DE as it's also known) but struggled to get a close shave without a LOT of irritation - to be fair, this isn't just with safety razors but shaving in general and it took years to find just the right razor and cream combination anyway.So...I bought a razor. Ended up giving it to my dad as despite being advertised as gentle, it cut me to shreds, and bought an adjustable one which I found much easier to use.I initially used the same palmolive cream as I used with my cartridge razor and it was ok but again I wanted to move away from the use of palm oil.I bought a pack of 100 Derby blades which came with a free Arko stick of shaving soap but as I travel a lot for work (well, when not in lockdown!) I wanted this because it can be thrown into my soap back.I adore the scent - I can understand why some people may find it a bit "clinical" but to me, it smells fresh and genuinely gorgeous. It lathers up really easily and really well and gives a nice even coating. I use it with a shaving oil to help soften the whiskers and so far apart from a tiny bit of irritation here and there (which I am sure is mostly down to my technique, right now), it leaves a close, clean shave.I can't recommend this enough.

Very good product
I was a little apprehensive buying this soap as have been using expensive soap. I have now used it for 7 shaves. The lather is thick, soft & fluffy , very gentle on the skin. I have sensitive skin and this is probably the best shaving soap I've ever used. Smells great as well. This will be my go to soap from now on...a very happy customer here in the UK
