Sharp precise cutting
I use this a lot and it is still sharp and precise. Size is great as it is easy to store. Competitive price.

Neat and efficient
Not quite as long and sturdy as we had expected, but seems to be doing the job ok. What I like about it is that, unlike our old one, there is a handy release mechanism that allows you to get at the cutting blade.

A cut above
Bought to replace the dysfunctional Ryman A4 12 sheet guillotine. This is MUCH better. Well made, smooth cut, easy sliding operation and you can see what you your cutting line. The only slight gripe is that you have to use finger tips to press on the pressure guard to avoid catching your hand on the top of the slicer but this is easily done. A very good, well made product at a competitive price. Recommended for moderate to light use. I tend to limit it to about 8 sheets of 80 gsm and it does fine with that and can happily slice a single laminated sheet as well. It's not commercial strength - and not commercial guillotine price either. For home or irregular home office use though, it's just right.

Clean, easy cuts up to at least 10 sheets of 80gsm paper
After reading some of the other reviews I was worried about the quality of the cut, but it cuts easily and cleanly through at least 10 sheets of standard 80gsm paper. The only time I've started getting 'feathering' at the lower edges was when I once tried to cut more than about 15 sheets. It cuts 160gsm card easily too, up to about 5 sheets. The guard is very close to where you cut, although not exact. It's better to line up with the edge of the base plate if you require absolute precision. It's much smaller than I was expecting, but still happily cuts 30cm (length of A4) - it is merely more efficient in size than I am used to!Overall, I am very glad I bought this as it is an invaluable classroom tool.

Not strong enough
I bought this for my college-age daughter, fed up with my little A4 cutter disappearing from my cupboard all the time! It's very impressive when cutting just one piece of paper. The problem comes when using to cut a few pieces of paper at a time; overestimate just once as to its capacity and the purple plastic head (the bit you move) is not man enough. It will become worn, and because of the strength of the spring holding the cutting wheel against the blade (I'm getting technical here!) the purple head will no longer run true down the metal rail. The cutter will still work, but it starts to make a bit of a scraping noise.I have the impression that it was specified to meet the needs of the greatest number of users, and priced at an optimum price to make maximum profit. But it's not a super bit of kit.You might do better to go to your local stationery shop and get whatever they have out of the box before you buy.

Cuts well but don't rely on the sides to square up!
A great lightweight cutter that has been extremely useful at home for cutting out labels and trimming up stickers. However, like many reviews have said the sides are not at a 90° angle. So I wouldn't rely on the sides to help you square up your documents if you need a perfect 90° angle.

Handy Trimmer for Home Use
The trimmer is light and easy to use. It was bought to replace one on which the plastic ruler which holds down the paper, had broken. In this day and age when we are urged to re- use and mend things, it was annoying to have to buy a complete new trimmer for the sake of one piece of broken clear plastic. The new trimmer is much the same as the old one, but the plastic ruler is flimsy and will undoubtedly be the first thing that breaks. However, it does the job well enough as long as paper is cut one piece at a time.
