Excellent tool
Just amazingVery light and easy to use, no issues at allUse the 5A/h batteries, 3A/h aren’t powerful enough. I was struggling to cut fencing until I used my 5A/h

Another great Makita product
Works really well. Have been in a trade and have other Makita products. For what I use it for now - home development and repairs - this is great.

Good saw. [ I think? ) Bad customer service
Some Issues:Great saw. Holds its charge for way longer than I expected. Cuts very well. That’s the good bit.Bad bit:life of the saw and mainly Makita customer service. Although polite, Very poor. (Google them) the saw packed in after very light use and just over a year old. Trigger has stopped working. Common fault on this saw.Makita won’t uphold thier two year warrenty....reason being...because I didn’t apply for the extended free warrenty. I explained there was no warrenty cards or instructions supplied with the saw that told me to register online. The helper stated that there would be no warrenty cards or similar.I asked how I was supposed to know about the warrenty application, she explained I wouldn’t have known and that is the problem with buying online???But they seem to have no issue with only offering hidden warranties online. She would not give me any reference number ( which Amazon requested to help this go forward. )Total shambolic service from Makita. And a machine that does not cut it ( pardon the pun ) would think twice before buying again. For everyone’s reference. The saw has had what I’d consider light use and is vacuumed clean after every use. And stored in a Makita case. Never been dropped.Giving 4 stars. Just. If the trigger hadn’t packed in and had to deal with customer service it’d get a five.Good luck.

Loving this compact saw
Much better than my previous model, which was a basement model, the DSS611Z bought in a 6-tool pack combi kit that I had for 5 years and only used occasionally for mostly DIY use (not full time or construction site based). That old one came to a sudden halt whilst cutting through an old chipboard 40mm worktop recently, so this new brushless version was my first choice for a replacement.Brushless action which means power saving, effortlessly and feels more planted though it is bigger and heavier this is only slightly. I like the LED light and the feel of this new saw.I only use 5 & 6ah original Makita batteries which are between 2 & 5 years old. None have over 150 - 200 charges. I have the Makita BTC 04 battery checker tester for monitoring all of my Makita batteries. The only gripe for me is that I'm not a first fix/carcassing contractor (DIY'er) so the rafter hook is un-necessary for me, I wished it could be removed, which it probably can but for now I can live with it.Cuts like a knife through timber and even has a good dust extraction outlet when attached to my DVC750LZ.Has the option to attach 2 fences to it, front and back of the base, though I have not tried this method yet.I enjoy looking forward to using this saw and hopefully it'll last me a lot longer than my old one. This is also registered under the 3 year Makita warranty scheme.
