Buy it! It's a fabulous bulb!
Wanted to save my old 3D cell Maglite torch. I'd got out of the habit of using it over the last few years as technology moved on and smaller torches became brighter. Recently purchased a 2 D cell LED Maglite torch for my son which was astoundingly good and very bright. Saw this bulb on Amazon and although quite expensive at £15.00 for a bulb, reckoned it was worth a punt. Got my son to try his torch in the garden at night, to compare it against my old 3 cell Maglite and his torch blew it away - his torch was extremely bright compared to mine. Then I changed to this bulb and WOW! What a transformation! My old 3 D cell torch was brighter again than the 2 cell torch my son has. It was fantastic! I was on the verge of spending £50+ to buy a new 3 D cell LED Maglite as a replacement but this bulb has blown me away and renewed my pleasure and use of my old Maglite. Expensive bulb but it saved me from an expensive replacement torch. Definitely well worth it!

Fantastic difference in brightness, worth the money
I was about to throw away my old 3D Maglite with its now puny light but then saw this. A lot cheaper than a new Maglite LED, so went ahead. Very easy to fit, simply unscrew the head where the bulb us, then unscrew the current bulb. This then screws in its place and the cover screwed back on. What a difference. The light it now gives off is superb and just as good as my other LED torches. Yes, a Maglite is not as portable as my small pocket LED Laser torch, but this also doubles up as a defense weapon like a club - it is that sturdy. I feel safer at night when using this compared to a pocket torch.

A moderately priced upgrade, but worth it- buy it. A new lease of life for my MagLite
I purchased this to upgrade my old MagLite 4 D cell torch. It had given years of sterling service when I was in the RAF and although it still works really well, the yellow original bulb was looking a little tired and jaded. I ordered the LiteXpress LED upgrade in the hope this would give it a new lease of life.... I wasn't disappointed! The bulb was an easy drop in replacement and once fitted, one word- AMAZING!! The light and coverage was impressive, and being a led bulb, the batteries should last a lot longer. A moderately priced upgrade, but worth it- buy it.

Nice and bright, especially compared to the older filament bulb.
Wanted to replace the old filament bulb with a modern led. Was very happy with the change. Hopefully it will also be a lower drain on the battery and give a longer battery life as the torch is used as a standby.

great upgrade to your Maglite, but very expensive. probably cheaper to just buy a new torch.
A great upgrade to the D cell Maglite. Note that you will need at least a 3 D cell version. I tried this in a 2D and it didn't have the power to run it. So I fitted these in a couple of 3D Maglites. The improvement is vast, very powerfull indeed. I am also using Duracell rechargeable batteries in them. The only real downside is the cost. aving paid a fair price for the Maglites, adding the cost of this upgrade (and the batteries) does make them incredibly expensive torches. When I see I can get a similar aluminum LED torch from the supermarket for a few pounds, the maglites dont really justify their cost anymore. Dont get me wrong, my two maglites are great, but it would have been cheaper to just buy new "unbranded" torches.

I have bought cheaper LED replacements for Mag-lite and they ...
I have bought cheaper LED replacements for Mag-lite and they have been unimpressive in terms of both brightness and length of life. This one is in a different league. It's incredibly bright - lights up for about 100metres with a 4 cell Mag-lite. If it lasts a decent length of time I will be even more impressed.

I love this light
I love this light. It has turned my 22yo Maglite 3D torch from a really good piece of kit to an utterly awesome torch. The light is fantastic. Gone is the old "yellow" light and in comes a fresh bright white light. My Maglite now has a superb range. Thank you LiteXpress for this excellent conversion kit, its well worth the money.

Be Aware!
Fortunately I have 2 Maglite torches. 1.. 4 cell the other 2. The replacement would only fit the 2 cell, the replacement was just to big to fit the 4 cell. So be aware but so far .... works fine.
