Useful.This wool holder is fine if balanced on a table etc where there is no tension on pulling the wool. Otherwise it falls over. Occasionally the wool can get caught between the base and the spinner but that does seem to depend how tight the actual ball of wool is wrapped in the first place.I bought 2 to save swapping colours over. A good price on amazon.I would recommend this. Very handy and maybe it's me that tugs the wool to hard. Much better than the ball rolling around on the floor and looks nice too

Small but sturdy and well made. I love this wool holder. It holds ball of wool which is spun by the manufacturer and stays put until the end of the ball. I have not tried it on self wound balls but as I rarely have a hand spun ball it suits me fine. Reasonable price and well worth it.

it is a good travel size but that does mean it is pretty small but is good for the money i paid for it!im happy

Makes knitting much easier

Arrived speedily, good price.. Yarn holder is a lot smaller than I expected BUT that is on me for not reading the item description properly. It does not affect its performance at all.. A 50g ball fits perfectly. I did however put a 400g Aran on this little device and it worked and made my project sooo much easier so don't let the small size put you off. I accidentally launched it up the floor twice in the space of an evening where it bounced up a wooden floor and it was absolutely fine, not even a scratch so this is a sturdy little item, I can confirm. All in all I am chuffed to bits with my purchase, love it. This little yarn holder will make crochet projects so much easier.

Wenn man z.B. ein farbverlaufsgarn von Außen verarbeiten will, oder nach dem aufribbeln einen Wollknäul erneut verstricken möchte ist dieser Drehstab super hilfreich. Er läuft wirklich leicht, allerdings darf die Wolle nicht zu fest gewickelt sein, da es auch sehr leicht ist und zieht man zu fest oder ruckartig, fällt er auch schonmal um. Ich habe ihn mit Klettband auf eine schweren Untergrund befestigt (altes Küchenbretchen), dann passiert das nicht. Bei leichten Garnen oder leichten Wickelungen benötige ich die Beschwerung nicht.Damit spring der Wollknäul nicht mehr durch die Gegend und ich muß nicht immer das Innerste der Wolle entwirren um ihn von Innen ab zustricken.Ich habe mittlerweile ein zweites dazu gekauft, das war dann tatsächlich etwas ruckelartig, da nicht ganz so genau gearbeitet wurde wie beim ersten, Da ichmir aber das zurückschickne ersparen wollte und es auch reduziert war, habe ich einen flachen Maschenmarkiere zwischen Spule und Halter gelegt (lose) damit lief die Spule dann sehr gut und leicht.Außerdem als Tip: Wenn man Wolle erneut vertrickt bzw. aufribbeln muß, dann auf Toilettenpapierrollen oder für größere Wollknäule/Bobbelteilung Küchenpapierrollen aufwikeln, die lassen sich perfekt über diesen Spinn abstricken, man muß nur darauf achten, dass der Schwerpunkt weiter unten liegt beim Woll-Rollen-Knäul. Klappt super.

Das ich die Spindel nicht mit einer vergleichen kann die ein Kugellager besitzt war mir klar. War trotzdem recht schwergängig. Aber schnell an die Kindheit erinnert... einfach den Holzdorn mit einer Kerze einreiben, Spindel aufsetzten und perfekt. Die Spindel dreht sich ohne Widerstand. Somit hat sich der Kauf gelohnt.
