The weed and feed is good I have over the years found use slightly less to avoid black patches on the lawn but use it more frequently for better results.

Just after I bought this I walked into a supermarket and they were selling off 12kg bags of it for £8! That aside, this is a pretty good product and I have been using it for years to maintain a lawn. I moved house last year and the new lawn was full of weeds and moss almost to the point where I contemplated replacing it. I brought out the big guns and went to town on it. It takes a while and you need to be patient, but it will kill the weeds and moss, but don't overapply or be tempted to give multiple treatments. A few days after application you will need to thouroughly water it in if it hasn't rained. There will be some black grass, but it's only temporary. There may be a strong metallic smell to it and you will need to keep pets off else it gets on their paws and they could lick them and ingest it.Some weeds die off faster than others. The moss will need to be gently raked out and this could leave some big bare patches depending on how infested you are. It may pay to rake through the thicker grass too as moss can be hidden. Grass seed can be put down a few weeks after treatment.I had to give the lawn a lighter second treatment a few months in, but eventually I had a weed free garden. This year I gave it a spring treatment and later in the year I just spot treated areas of weed as I was using a spray in feed (It won't permanently prevent weeds).Sadly, it doesn't stop my dog peeing on the lawn and killing off patches, but I do have a nice thick, dark green, weed free lawn.

2017 UPDATE==========I purchased a further bag from Amazon and applied it to my lawn. This time I have ensured that it just covered the whole lawn - we use this product twice a year and it really does fertilise the lawn and kills moss and weeds. The major benefit from regular use is that the grass roots become stronger, the grass subsequently is stronger and more durable and this helps with drainage, reducing the moss and crowding out the weeds. Our first application of the year has been thoroughly watered into the lawn and I am waiting to scarify the lawn to remove the dead moss - each year, the lawn gets stronger and I have up-rated my award to 5 stars.ORIGINAL REVIEW===============I purchased this item al with a Scotts Easy Green Rotary Spreader (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002B550CU/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_9). which I have also reviewed.I liked this product, it was well packaged and dry when I applied it to our lawn. I was somewhat disappointed by the fact the the contents did not spread anywhere near 200 square metres, but obviously that is more to do with the spreader than the product itself. We were very fortunate that heavy rain was forecast and duly arrived on time and watered this product into our lawn. 48 hours later, I can see that some of the weeds are starting to die off and I anticipate that it will kill the moss and weeds and fertilise my lawn.So why only 4 stars, it is doing the job? Well firstly, it didn't cover anywhere near 200 square metres and whilst I have blamed the spreader, I think that in any event you might be hard pressed to cover an area that size with this item, secondly on price, this item was far more expensive via Amazon than my local garden centre; no it wasn't on offer and yes my garden centre is normally far more expensive. Thankfully I don't apply these products more than twice a year and what I pay for it does not detract from how good the product is, however, I do feel that if my local garden centre beats Amazon on price then comment should be made.
