Master of Chess Professional TOURNAMENT No.6 Wooden Chess Set Inlaid 54 cm Chess Board + Staunton No.6 Chess Pieces

Most boards on the market under this price seem to be folding or travel sets. Boards of this quality seem to be priced at least 70 to 80 without also coming in a set with pieces, so this set is actually really good value. The board is surpsingly big. Looks bigger than the boards you see professional tournaments using but the dimensions do match both FIDE and USCF regulations. The squares are 2.25x2.25 inches and the whole board is a bit over 21x21 inches. The pieces have a minimal classic look. They are very chunky, ergonomic, nicely weighted and satisfying to handle and knock about. All the woodwork and finishing of the board and pieces is nice. The whole set and board came out of the box smelling nicely freshly varnished and glued. It does feel like the whole set came straight out of the workshop to my door, which is nice. Hand crafted in Poland where I know chess is taken seriously. The only negative thing I can say is that Some of the pieces do have excess bits of glue on them that I might have to try and rub off. Not a big deal though.

Great chess set, board is bigger than I thought (this is a positive) and the pieces are well made.
