When this arrived in perfect condition, tthe first thing is to charge its internal battery. It has a backup system, with three AAA batteries.The lantern is pretty bright, enough to please most people. It also has the ability to be used as a roadside warning beacon, and has a torch on top, but as a floodlight only.All said, it is a pretty good bit of kit.I like mine, and use it as a bedside light!

Well made sturdy and very bright. I purchased this item not for camping but in case we have a power outage. On testing it it is very bright so I purchased a cylindrical lamp shade to go over it which works brilliantly, just like a table lamp, only need one in a room as opposed to lots of candles. Also, the torch on the top is a handy extra, great for moving from room to room. I also like the option that I can charge it and use batteries as a backup. A really good item for a really good price. Just received my lantern feels good quality and working fine. Will be using it for night fishing and it does exactly what I expected. It's decent warm light instead of bright white which is what I wanted and prefer.It does everything as description states. Really pleased with my purchase. 👍🏻

Went glamping last week with these lanterns, lightweight but still gave me a sense that they were decently constructed. The light given off is excellent and provides all the visibility I required when moving about a dark forest / tent.You need to ensure that you do not have the lantern in your field of view as it is very bright white light, so you need to have the light above or behind you. We covered the light with a piece of kitchen roll when it was on the table at dinner so as not to blind us.I accidentally knocked over one of the lanterns on to the floor from the dinner table, the impact did little to the light so it seems fairly durable.One of the lantern's battery did not last as long as expected, I had fully charged both but was able to add rechargeable batteries (3 x Amazon Generic Rechargeable batteries) to it and it worked for the rest of our trip. I will removed 1 star for that, if on a subsequent trip this is different I will update the review.Overall I recommend these lanterns and look forward to using them sometime in the future.

I bought the Herobeam to use in my part converted campervan because of its various lights.It is perfect - the magnets stick strongly to the van and there is a hanging hook too, both the torch and pull up light are powerful and it's a compact piece of equipment.

After using for a few weeks I can easily recommend this lantern.The warm glow light is perfect for a bench or room at night. It feels better than the white glow of other lanterns.It’s as bright as you’d expect for the 300 lumens. The rechargeable side works fine. I wouldn’t say it was 8 hours but I personally would always keep batteries in as well to keep it going just in case. Plus after reading a lot of mixed reviews about the rechargeable side I wouldn’t risk leaving them out.The light on top is a huge circle. Doesn’t go very far but great for visibility.Overall I’d say it ticks all the right boxes for the price. It does feel a bit cheap but not enough to worry.

Nice homely light, not the kind that makes you unable to see for 10 minutes if you glance at it, we do a lot of wild camping on the moors so the flashing red beacon may come in useful one day! Hopefully we will never need to use it!Also used on a family camping trip and can confirm that the light was left on and lasted through the whole night.

The lantern is very well made and well designed. Battery life is decent too. Happy days!!

Ich hatte mir die Laterne wegen dem zusätzlichen Batteriefach gekauft. Kann ja nie schaden Reduntanz zu haben. Die Laterne ist sehr Hell damit läuchtet man Problemlos seinen ganzen Campingbereich aus. DieTaschenlampenfunktion ist hervorragend auch wenn der kleine Alubügel als Griff nicht ideal ist. Aber für kurz mal was ausleuchten ist das völlig ok. Die Roten Warnleuchten sind für den Notfall bestimmt nicht verkehrt wenn auch ich nicht sagen kann wie weit man die sehen kann.Die Verarbeitung ist echt klasse ich hab nirgends einen Grad oder Nase gefunden. Ich bin mit dem Ding zufrieden alerdings hab ich auch nicht so extreme ansprüche an ne Camping Laterne.Eine Sache stört mich dann aber doch etwas. Die Lampe ist so Hell das ich mir eine Dimmfunktion wünschen würde. Das einzige was man machen kann ist die Lampe nicht ganz auszuziehen aber das sparrt dann leider keinen Akku. Aber sonst top das teil.

The best lantern ever! T'is hurricane season, and as Irma was approaching, I ordered this lantern. It really came in handy when we lost power. In using it, I found out just how awesome it is. It takes AA batteries, and since it's LED, they last for ever. It has a flashlight on top that is good and strong. In addition it has a red strobe light that would be nifty in an emergency on the road. The best feature is the lantern part. You pull the lantern apart, basically, and four LED tubes are revealed that give off fabulous amounts of light. You can adjust how far you pull the two halves apart, depending on how much light you need.Since I was freaked out during the hurricane, I left the lantern on all night - to have a bit of light - and it never lost battery power. Lastly, there are some super-strong magnets on the bottom, so you can attach this lantern to anything metal, like an outer door (which is usually metal) or a car, or the fridge, or ... and it will stay because the magnets are mighty. Love this lantern lots and lots. Completely worth the cost, which isn't that much.

Have been using it for the last 2 days and really impressed with the brightness and ease of use. The way we can collapse it, helps save a lot of space. The only annoying thing so far is the hook at the bottome. I find it really hard to open it to hang the light but it is not a biggie. I would still highly recommend this.

La lanterne est assez petite, donc transportable facilement, et polyvalente.Il y a des aimants en dessous pour les surface métalliques, au dessus une lampe torche assez puissante et des LED de couleur pour faire 'balise de secours' (conso faible).L'utilisation est très instinctive une fois qu'on s'est familiarisé avec les fonctionnalités.Deux bémols :1) Je n'aime pas le fait de ne pas pouvoir accéder à la batterie facilement pour la remplacer, ni ne pas savoir de quel modèle il s'agit. Cela veut dire que si la batterie meurt, je suis obligé de racheter l'article alors qu'il n'y a que la batterie qui ne fonctionne pas, ou de tout démonter et faire mes recherches par moi-même pour la remplacer au risque de mal faire quelque chose et de rendre l'article dangereux.2) la lumière de la lanterne est dangereuse pour les yeux, vraiment. La notice précise bien danger, il ne faut surtout pas la regarder directement. Cela est du au fait qu' elle éclaire horizontalement au lieu d'éclairer dans toutes les directions. C'est difficile à expliquer jusqu'à ce qu'on l'ait dans les mains.Je doute que ces problèmes soient compliqués à régler sans beaucoup augmenter le prix de l'article, mais ça ne reste que mon avis.Après, le rapport qualité prix est excellent et je ne regrette pas mon achat.J'avais vraiment besoin d'une lampe comme celle-là pour m'éclairer dans ma cave qui n'a pas de lumière et elle fait très bien le travail.
