Not a great product but the company stands behind it
I used 3 of these on a golf cart that I'm restoring and all 3 broke within a few minutes. The metal itself snapped in the middle where the "hourglass" narrows. I had to replace them with a different brand. If you want something that's going to last, this is not it.Update: the company contacted me and offered a full refund and I accepted. Maybe I got a bad batch because the product really was of poor quality. It is rare, however, that a company will offer a refund without me asking for it. For this reason, I would try HKS products again.

The only thing in my electrical system on my boat that’s not Ancor Marine.
They crimp good and tight with the heat shrink adhesive that seems to have sealed well. I used them to wire the new switch panel.

Non-standard length
The metal circle that is supposed to crimp down around the inserted wire is a non-standard length--on both sides of that metal ring my Wirefy crimping tool crimps the plastic only instead of the ring and the plastic, which rips the plastic and makes an unsealable connection.

Budget-friendly crimp connectors
I would rate these connectors in the high side of the budget category.The heat shrink portion works well. A higher ratio shrink was a nice surprise. I was not able to identify any adhesive or waterproofing qualities.The design of the metal portion appears to be tinned steel. On the piggyback spade set I got (blue), the male connector is made thicker by folding, rather than having full-thickness metal. I found a good solid feel with several name-brand spade connectors, both on the male and female ends.The barrel where the crimping occurs is clearly made of two pieces. I suspect the inner barrel is tinned copper, and the outer is the tinned steel of the rest of the unit. I tried several types of crimpers, running from very cheap to full die. Initial results of about twenty crimps were better than expected for budget pieces. I didn't have any barrels fail like I had expected, and I beat them up pretty hard. There were a few wire pullouts with cheaper grade wires, but nothing surprising.I think these will be a good option to stock up on for general usage. I'm not going to use these for high-vibration or high-current environments, though. A great option for the price!
