We use this cleaner for our pool filters. Works great. We clean filter, put in container with product and water and let it sit there until we need it again. Then rinse it off and put it in the filter container. Helps keep filter clean and white. Very good product.

Cleaned the cartridges with the hose to get the bulk of them cleaned, through them in a plastic trash can and filled with water and 2 bottles of product, left them soaking for about 30 hrs, What I found was that it really cleaned out the filament of the cartridges, got rid of the build up of the finer particles and has them flowing freely again. It didn't " bleach the cartridge to make it look like new , like some reviews complained about, but it do the job I was expecting it too do

We have an outdoor swimming pool with a sand filter and have purchased this product for the last three years. The first year I was uncertain of the best way to use the product, so called the company, asking if it would be best to (i) add the product while back-flushing the filter, allowing it to cycle through the filter in just a few minutes, or (ii) add the product, allow it to reach the filter, then turn the back-flush off so that the product remained in the filter for 12 hours. The answer was that the product would be much more effective if it was given dwell time in the sand filter, so this is what we do. We take care with keeping our pool clean, back-flushing the sand filter as needed, but it's surprising when we turn the back-flush on again after the HTH treatment how dirty the ejected water is. So, for us the product works well and just one application a year is enough. We will continue to buy the product if it is priced appropriately, as it presently is.

As a first time user I found this product did a quality job alabeit to be 100% effective you need a large enough container the will hold 4 large cartridge filters. I used a lg garbage pail filled with hot water and a bottle of this filter cleaner. Recommends the filters be submerged completely which I couldn't do so had to remove and reinstall upside down. Only did this process for approx 6 to 7 hours when instructions say overnite approx 10 to 12 hours. To be clear I had already used a garden hose to clean the most sediment from the cartridge filters already. My observation showed the filters were substantially cleaner than my previous efforts. I would give a rating of 8 until I could complete this process again using a container suitable to hold all four cartridge filters submerged for 24 hours. Very time consuming but that what it takes to do is correctly. The joys of taking care of your very expensive investment. It take time,money and effort. Enjoy the clear pool water filtration your efforts produce. Regards Laner1
