A book about being human. Being loved. To love.
“They teach you growing up that you are only one thing at a time - angry, lonely, content - but he has never found that to be true. He is a dozen things at once. He is lost and scared and grateful, he is sorry and happy and afraid. But he is not alone.”▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️“What she NEEDS are stories.Stories are a way to preserve one’s self. To be remembered. And to forget.Stories come in so many forms: in charcoal, and in song, in paintings, poems, films. And BOOKS.Books, she has found, are a way to live a thousand lives - or to find strength in a very long one.”This book. 😮💨 this book is EVERYTHING I needed and everything I didn’t know I was needing. This beautiful story is thought-provoking, emotional and fantastical. It had me wondering what does living successfully mean? Are you only successful if you are remembered? If you make a mark in this world? And what would I sacrifice for happiness? The story also explored what it means to be human. To be loved. To love. For my friends who know nothing about Addie LaRue this is definitely a fantasy with a dash of romance. I wouldn’t call it a straight romance book but rather explores themes of love. I am seriously so thankful I branched out of the stories I usually read to read this. These characters, especially Addie, will stick with me for life. V.E. Schwab’s writing is gorgeous. A work of art. I immediately bought books off her backlist after reading this.I read this as an audiobook and I couldn’t recommend it more in this format. Julia Whelan did a phenomenal job bringing this book to life. Her emotions could be felt so vividly. I sobbed my way through many parts of this story 🥹Thank you to everyone who encouraged me to read this. I will be sending you my therapy bill but I am so thankful 😂

Beautiful Special Edition of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
I loved this novel and this edition is beautiful. There's gorgeous artwork inside the book along with a fabric bookmark. Overall, I am happy with this edition although I do want to point out that the book itself is more the size of a paperback and not your standard hardcover size. It is still a gorgeous book and an awesome edition to your bookcase, especially if you loved the novel like I did.

"If contentment can compete with passion, it warmth will ever be as strong as heat."
The story of Addie LaRue had me hooked, memorized, in love. Schwab has deep, thoughtful, thought provoking, and emotional quotes sewn into this beautiful story. I was engrossed in every word, until i wasn't...Addie's story is so compelling that Henry's is a shock to the system. Bland, typical, and slow. I found myself wanting to take breaks during his chapters and it truly felt to take away from the rest of the story. Henry's story felt as though it belonged in a different book; I feel his character and that plot could have been served better in this book with LESS story time focused on Henry's life alone.I'm in love with the portrayal of darkness. Luc is a beautiful character, showing the similarities and differences in gods from humans. I was truly upset by the ending: Addie should have seen the similarities between Luc, herself, and Henry. Her anger toward Luc seems misdirected and unfair. Especially since she doesn't seem to ever appreciate what Luc DID give her and consider her own part in these situations. I wanted better for Luc!I would have given the first half of the book five stars, but just couldn't bring myself to give anything higher than a four after Henry's story started weaving in a little too deep"And no matter how desperate or dire, never pray to the gods that answer after dark."

Beautiful book
Great book, very beautiful. Has illustrations inside. Only downside is that the dust cover is paper and easily damaged.
