It actually works. For a non-apple brand accessory this is the one to get in its category. The play/pause and volume up and down buttons are handy. Perhaps a longer cord could be better in some situations, but it functions well. I am using it with a cassette adapter in my car, so the sound quality is good.

Found one flaw that charging would not work if used a Lightning to USB-C cable. But know that the old fashioned Lightning to USB-A just works fine, so maybe it shouldn’t be called flaw since obviously this splitter product is an old model which was made before USB-C, and so USB-C wiring was not implemented. Anyhow, I still gave it 5 star because the volume controls and all other features work as designed.

Great Product so far, no issue with audio. There was a post from Tia, Tia says " plug it into your phone, wait till the phone returns to its normal state/settles/accepts the plugin(like 5 seconds). Then play your music from wherever. " -- Thank You Tia !! I did this and have not have any issues with the audio output. The volume level displays briefly showing the headphone Icon, once this disappears it should be ready to output audio. The only function I did not like was the buttons on the device disable the ' in-line remote' on my earbuds.

Works well most of the time, but sometimes causes a high pitch “feedback” squeal in the speakers, even using built in iOS music player or YouTube. I’ve never had that problem with any other adapter. I could do without the volume control buttons but they are probably handy for some people.

So I originally bought one 2 yrs ago from a store and it ran its term. I tried other brands and none compared to the output this has sound wise. I do understand the complaint of the feedback in other reviews which I didn’t experience with my first one. However, the way around it is when you plug it into your phone, wait till the phone returns to its normal state/settles/accepts the plugin(like 5 seconds). Then play your music from wherever. If you try to play the music before the phone’s done connecting it will feedback. Now that I know that, I have no problems and I’m just as satisfied as when I bought it before. I have an iPhone. Hope this helps for android users as well. Still a happy customer.

No one else makes this type of accessory, so you are kind of stuck with choosing this. However, it does fulfill a critical need-it lets you listen to audio from your iOS device with lightning output in your car's aux input. For that, it is awesome.Every once in a while, you get weird stuff happening, like an ear-splitting high-pitch tone. This is usually fixed if you unplug your phone from the device, and plug back in.Over a somewhat short amount of time, these things end up breaking. More and more, it won't work when you plug your phone in, until it doesn't work at all. I'm on my third Scosche device in two years. I bought one at a retail store, and the last two from *this* seller on Amazon. The first one from Amazon lasted about 3-4 months. The second one, is still working, after 3 months of use.One other tip...if you get a problem where you get NO audio from your music / podcast / audiobook / etc. app when the accessory is plugged in, you can go over to your phone app, and click play on a voicemail. If you hear audio through your car , then go back to your audio app, the problem is resolved.
